Can we get the older Rom Manager version from 4shared, then try the steps?
thank you for giving it a shot! that's great news! I just installed it and it works!!!! I now have CWM though ROM MANAGER on my Optimus MI took a leap of faith and got version 4.3.3.0 of RM from 4shared, then did PG's steps in the OP and everything worked just like the instructions said. Before (with the updated RM), I didn't get the clockworkmod/download/clockwork.download/recoveries folder, but with this older version I did. So now I can get into the CWM recovery via RM, no bricks! woot woot!
so how do i get rid of this recovery and flash another one i do not want to run any risks... and where is the link to the gmn or gnm idk which one recovery

think ext3 is default in CMW if its supported, far as converting ext2 to ext3 or 4, not sure if it can be done with any recovery but think its an option is a2sdgui.I know with the GNM that's how it is, but is that the same with CWM? I looked at a2sd sysinfo and it said the partition was ext3 (I did this after I asked the question). If it is an ext2, then I couldn't find a way to upgrade it in CWM recovery.

Yea, I'm not so pigheaded as not to listen or try sumtin, unless I know for a fact it does or doesnt work lol. That's one of the things I love about these forums, everyone learns something (that is if they aren't so full of themselves and are willing to learn, I've seen a couple of people like that).
