I couldn't find an adb folder but Blu8's advice worked perfectly. By the way, I had to "fastboot oem unlock" (not optional, at least in my case, even with bootloader unlock enabled in Developer Options).
Glad you figured it out

Dammit! now that I rooted MM video calling doesn't work for me anymore -____-
I'm rooted too and Video Calling was an option on my device, can even make calls.
I couldn't make video calls anymore because I changed the DPI, lol.
@TMacgnolia does the bootloader unlock work even if I'm still running 5.1 ??
Someone from XDA Forum said you can root with Kingroot.
Personally i thought it was a bunch of sh*t, but surpringly the damn thing worked.
All i did was OEM unlock (like this tutorial) and instead of doing the twrp/su stuff from here (because it doesn't work for me either.) I just ran the KingRoot apk (after the oem unlock) and did the auto rooting process. It worked!
Edit: spoke to soon, King root ****s you when you reboot the device.
It probably does work on 5.1.1 also but I never tested it on that version.
From the posts made on the XDA thread I made it appears Kingroot does work as at least one user can comfirm it worked for them. I woulod like some more feed back from users on this though. I am going to edit the guide some to match the edits I made to the one on XDA.
If anyone tries kingroot and can't hold root after a reboot, maybe try to flash SuperSU over kinguser before the first reboot attempt. Also flash twrp, of course. But get rid of all signs of kingroot and its apps.
Has anyone tried this? The only way to replace Kingroot with SuperSU is to use the SuperSUme app or the script that does it.
Has anyone tried this?
@TMacgnolia , If i tried to root using Kingroot, supersume, and flashify for twrp and my device became bricked, would i still be able to go in DL mode and reflash to get back to MM with LG Flash Tool? If i could still get back to stock MM, im definitly willing to give it a try.
So kingroot seemed to be a no go. It installed and rooted my device. I then tried super sume, and it force closed. I tried the script @TMacgnolia mentioned, and it opened Supersu, but i could not install via twrp as im just stock root and couldnt reboot yet. Normal install failed. I then tried to instal twrp via flashify, and before rebooting, tried installing supersu through twrp. When my device rebooted i got secure booting error 1003 on the LG splash screen and a boot loop. I tried the recovery key combo, the option to factory reset came up, but when pressed, the phone would boot back to the flash screen with the same error and bootloop. I finally pulled my battery and reflashed the 10i kdz with the LG Flash Tool 2014. At the end of that my phone rebooted and came up with error and a dead android. Another battery pull, and the setup menu came up phone rebooted on its own before i could tap english and all is good. Im now on 10i waiting for my battery to charge to upgrade back to MM. Hopefully i still have a recovery, because im at the part whereim supposed to factory reset before changing date time and updating to MM.
@TMacgnolia , i am having ALOT of trouble. I have adb and fastboot in C:/adb , as well as the recovery.img. i enable usb debugging and oem unlock, go into the adb folder, and open a cmd window. When i type adb devices i get LGH631329ec6ba device. I type adb reboot bootloader, my phone reboots to an lg splash screen that says welcome to bootloader unlocker. As soon as i type fastboot devices, the terminal says waiting on device and my phone stays on the bootloader screen until i pull the battery. Did i delete my stock recovery earlier? Am i doing something wrong?
I installed fastboot and adb from the xda link or so i thought. It was supposed to be a 15 second all in 1 package from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48915118#post48915118
So i should be able to use this exact same process in Kali Linux? I have it dual booted alongside Windows 10.
