Try the deleting the telephony.db

Open up root explorer and navigate to data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/telephony.db and delete the file that says telephony.db then restart your phone.

If this does not work, you could just be missing an APN.

i deleted the telephony.db file and restarted i can receive attachments sometimes and it seams to take awile to download but i still cant send attachments but if i use the sens joneidy rom attachments work flawlessly sending and receiving i would rather use cyanogen but the sens rom seems to have mms working alot better anyone have an ideas on a fix or am i just going to have to wait on a better mms fix.

hello, thank you for this great guide, it helped me through my first time downgrading, rooting and flashing. phone works great!
I am soon to buy the LG esteem purely for the 4g speeds, and i plan to give my Opt M to my little brother. As i am very new to this sort of things, i am curious how i would go about switching his phone number to the Opt M. I think i read somewhere i cant just take the phone to a metro pcs store. Would i have to return to stock rom or is there maybe another way?

:D

@Caupolican

You may please use the below Guide to restore to MetroPCS LG Optimus M Stock ROM 2.2.1 and then you shall be able to return the phone to MetroPCS.

Hi thank you for you quick reply.
I'm currently running PlayfulDroidz CM-7.1.0-LG-MS690 (sorry i forgot to mention)
well I pretty much have everything thats on your OP.
this guide you suggest says "Downgrade LG Optimus M from 2.2.2 to 2.2.1"
should i go ahead and use it or is there another way i should downgrade, from cm7 to stock?

Nope, just follow the guide correctly and you will be at 2.2.1 stock without root. Everything that u need should be available in guide as well.

Nvm phone wouldn't switch me to last page so I thought u were never answered. >…> now I look dumb. Lol

Downgrading is the only way to go back to a completely stock phone. But if you'd rather flash, TeamChickenEater has a stock rom that is only missing all the "bloatware" (its a very nice rom, and you wouldn't need to re-root and flash the recovery again). There is also Kelso's Rom, its also based on the stock, but he made it mostly to be custom, with themes and such.
Have a nice day.

Hello everyone,

Im running stock 2.2.1, and my phone has already been rooted.

I downloaded recovery RA optm 2.2.1 GNM.img directly to my phone from its browser then moved it to the root of my sdcard with Astro. However when i go to select the file with Flash Image Gui, the file appears with the same title except with a .txt extension at the end of it. Im not sure wether to proceed with the flashing ( lol that sounds wrong) or should i download the file another way? I dont want to go further withou help from the real pros

Btw, great forum you guys got running here, very informative. :)

Get the Root Explorer app, then download the recovery again using a computer, then just move it to the root of your sdcard from the computer. The recoveries end with .img so if yours is .txt something might be wrong don't flash that .txt

ok. where is the android market? and also, under accounts, it has no options for facebook, twitter or even gmail. It automatically asks me for an exchange account?~! what is that?

Could someone link me an android marketplace apk? How would i install it ?

are you talking about on your first flash? if so, its asking you to set up a gmail account. You can skip pass all the initial setup if you want to and set it up later. The market app is a system app, it's already on your phone when you flash a Rom or flash the old market zip that BobZhome has in his CM7 thread.

Thanks. I didnt know Gapps had the Market in it as well. Figured it would be on the rom. Thanks. Heres a link for everyone else.

And i was never asked to create an account. And when i go into accounts, there is no option to log in with gmail.

edit::: Never mind. After installing gapps, i received the google prompts for accounts. thanks again atownchevy. ----off topic---we're both atlanta android modders. nice to see im not alone! :')

i cant remember who's it was but i saw it on someones rom for the om

If you add some pictures it would. be nice

This is a forum, picture Guides are made, but there's more written in text that you must read. If you need to root 2.2.2, there is another thread. This thread to downgrade to 2.2.1 to root was for when there was no method of rooting 2.2.2

Rooting 2.2.2 is easier than downgrading to 2.2.1 to root.

It even has a nice video :D

It also installs GNM recovery as well.
