Re Titanium:
What and when should a person back up other than the auto, weekly backup of apps? When I go to Menu > Batch there are a lot of options. Specifically wondering about "Backup all user apps" vs "Backup system data" vs "Backup all user apps and system data".
Since I already have a NAND backup done for 2.1, should I wait to do any further backup via Ti until I actually get to the point of flashing a new Rom?
I've read in a few places that some "system" settings perhaps should not be restored to various Roms because they may conflict with the new Roms settings.
So basically, I think at this point I know just enough to be dangerous and I'm looking for somebody who's been down this road to let us in on exactly how they do backups/restores.
And whether or not this is the sticky we go with, we need one.

How do I make a back up copy of the stock ROM with nandroid? I'm confused as to what nandroid actually is.
when i download the cyanogen rom from the rom manager, and it asks to wipe and backup and i do that. it just keeps bringing me back to a completly wiped rooted phone, how do i get this rom on there? and I also don't know what that rom is saving as anyone know?
thanks so much guys!
are you talking about the gingerbread keyboard? You can download that separately. no need for a different ROMI am rooted and want to use the GB keyboard from the OMGB ROM. I am currently using Virtuous ROM and really like it. How do I flash the GB keyboard to use with Virtuous?
Copy the ROM that you are going to use to the root of your sd card.
I have a quick and probably dumb question. When you say "copy the file to the root of your sd card", is that a folder that you create on your sd card? I'm asking because I just formatted an sd card to use exclusively for ROMs, and I was wondering if I had to make a "root" folder. Thanks for any help.
