If it is a kdz file, then it doesn't need to be converted.

Yea, I was seeding that while you were downloading

I erased my computer though, it was only booting in safe mode....gotta redownload everything....

Thank you! I softbricked my phone by removing things on titanium... should have double checked the list of things again before i went removing things willy nilly.

Anyways, this worked. I had to remove the usb cable to get my phone into E mode. While it was plugged it in would only keep vibrating and not go in.

Does anybody know how to root the lg spirit and avoid the security error? Or is this not fixable and i just have to avoid rebooting my phone plz answer back i really need help. I rooted my phone and it bricked twice but i flashed it back to stock firmware but i really want my phone to be rooted so i can get rid of all the bloat.

Make sure all the MBs are there after download and after converting.

wanna thank you for this it took me a while only because i didnt catch yhe mb loss from cabinet file to kdz but when i did it worked great it was a little glitchy at first but i ran my backup and rerooted..its back to 1.51GHz THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH

APPARENTLY you need 3 gig of free space on the drive the update file is on .if you dont the tool can stop updating in the middle of the process

Because:

500+ MBs for cab
+Same amount of MBs for the converted KDZ
+Converted KDZ being converted back to cab
+Extraction of cab= .wdb, .wdh, .dll files, .wdb file MBs ~ CAB file
+extraction of WDB file= more than 1 GB of files. it contains PRL, TOT, and other files.

thought it would fluff up the file before writing .instead stopping when the phone is halfway flashed.

edit sorry for being vague
i was aware of unpacking{uncompressing]

started the tool,it began unpacking
started writing
theres about 61 parameter writes,i dont iknow what else to call it
at about parameter write 12 or so
the flashing stopped
a notification popped up saying i need at least 3 gig available in the update file.
no big deal this is fixable
i actually cleaned out drive to 2.6 and reflashed ok

comment: Thanks to Sepero and sammyz for all their help. I rooted my phone on 2/5 on ChrUbuntu or so with Sepero's help Then i bricked it by installing a bunk app from the Play market. I got my windows xp fixed and unbricked it last night thanks to sammyz

Question: Now I want to reroot it, well I tried but...the cmnd prompt messege after i did all the downloading and installing, did not give me the required messege plus i did not see su in my phone....

...right now - i'm unbricking it or unrooting the phone again - am i missing something?

You might need to factory reset, but before doing so, could you try the spirit's method of rooting?
