Help Handcent 3.9.10 Now in Market

Woot! I have all my contacts showing up in Handcent. Finally.

One of the most useful settings that I have found in Handcent is the "Filter Mobile Contacts" setting in "Send Settings".

Gets rid of a lot of the clutter, and eliminates sending texts to landlines by mistake.

I use Handcent and grabbed the update. Thanks! BTW...a couple of days ago I lost the ability to send photos from my device. When I hit send the status wheel keeps spinning and the message doesn't go through. It's happening with the stock app as well.

Now I have another problem, handcent locked up on me twice. I had to pull the battery both times.

Can somebody please make an SMS that works?
I'll pay anything!!!

The updated GO SMS that was released back oh, about a week after the Nexus launch fixed my contact mix-up issue i had (once), and since then, I've had zero issues at all. Not sure if you've ever tried it, or have reasons to not, but it might be worth a check to see if it fits for you.

I tried it the week after Christmas and had problems with mixing up contacts.
I guess I'll give it another try.

You know the one thing I don't like about Handcent is the fact that you lose the little emoticon key. It's replaced by an enter key which for texting is worthless.

if you long press the enter key you get the list of emoticons. isn't this essentially the same as using a dedicated emoticon key, you would need to press that key to select from the list of emoticons anyway right? both methods require two presses, one to activate the list and the other to select the emoticon.

I like this too, except for the fact that often times people's google voice numbers dont show up, as sometimes they're listed as "Grand Central"

It looks like there is a bit of a security bug in ICS. I use a PIN on Handcent, which protects entry to the text messages in both handcent, and the stock app. In ICS, if you switch out of handcent in any way other than backing out (hit home, switch to another app), you can switch right back into the app, or open it back up without having to type in the PIN.

i use chomp and it works, from what i've seen. i haven't had any issues.

what's this contact mix up problem people are talking about?

i used ChompSMS on my last two phones... i tried it on my GNex but i noticed that i can't customize the theme at all (e.g., bubble style, background color, etc...). does the customization work for you?

stock 4.0.2 unrooted

I got GO SMS from the market again today and again I sent a text to one person and it shows I sent it to another person....WTF!!!

I'm willing to give people money which is just as good as cash for the first developer to make a sms that works with ICS android 4.0 for the verizon galaxy nexus.

Handcent works perfectly for me on ICS.

I used to use handcent on my dinc (and on the rezound I had for a couple weeks), but I actually like the built-in messenger app so far. :)

I don't like the stock bc no pop up window and have to press back too many times to prepare for the next message.
