No problem. Make sure you uninstall Handcent if you had it installed from the Market before and uninstall any font pack you have for it also.

I went from his original custom apk to his updated one without uninstalling first. You only have to uninstall if you switch from official to custom and vice versa. If he releases an update you shouldn't have to uninstall.
 
Maybe for a future update you should change the popup box to be the same as the conversation window colors because the popup colors are ugly.

Idk I have my conversation colors set to my liking, don't mind the pop up colors.

the new icon and the counter kind of blend, any way to change color of counter on the widget to maybe black or white?

Could you change the inside of the text boxes for the message and the contact from that ugly yellow to white? Thanks
 
You just mean the tan color that the received bubble looks like in a conversation? I changed it. Go look at the latest version screenshot.
 
I'll try and figure it out. It'll take me a while to resize everything just right and find what png the popup is using, I'll try to have it sometime this weekend.

One more thing, if you could, can you change the color of the box of the person that you are sending the text to, to match the color of the message box?
 
Thanks for posting this! Quick question, on my home screen the "handcent sms" under the icon cuts off. Did you use bettercut or another program to edit this, or are you using a home replacement? If I use sense or stock home it still cuts off longer shortcut names.
 
Cool, I'm using it now. I just wish that I could set everything to look stock.

The only reason I like handcent is the pop-up feature actually sends my messages if I put the phone to sleep (unlike popup sms), and the icon is better on this one. I couldn't change the icon with bettercut on helix launcher.

Anyway, if someone can figure out the settings to make this look like the stock messaging app, (colors, what dates to show, etc.) then I would gladly give you my thanks. And I guess a google wave invite since that's the only thing I could really give away haha.

Its all in settings. Theres a choice for iphone, android etc., colors are in settings also. Conversation settings etc. look around you'll find them.

Ohhhh, you're talking about quick compose. See I don't use any of the popup or quick compose features so I haven't noticed, but yes, I'll fix that and have an updated version tomorrow. Thanks for all the comments and suggestions guys!
