looks like mr unbox therapy guy is still loving the note 10+:
i agree we do not talk enough about MST tech that samsung has put into their flagship phones and how cool it really is. Also that samsung does not advertise this enough. i do love to amaze people when i either whip out the phone or using my gear s3 frontier watch to pay for my purchases.
For a tech guy, I'm not enamoured.
Far too much pausing, rambling, but also, not enough knowledge or research.
It's MST, Magnetic Secure Transaction.
It is proprietary to Samsung after they bought out the company that invented it.
And yes, not a big enough fuss is made about it, however for me it's also irrelevant as chip and pin and tap are common in the UK.
However, I'm still "that guy with the phone" as many shops do not realise that the contactless limit of £30 GBP that applies to physical cards, does not apply to Apple/Google/Samsung pay etc...
I've yet to test the upper limit of Google Pay or Samsung Pay because my primary card uses its own app (Barclaycard).
This allows for payments over £30 up to £100 by entering a pin on my phone.
I believe that Google et all just need you to unlock your phone with your biometrics...
(To be fair, the new version of the Barclaycard app now takes fingerprints, so the pin may also be redundant - I haven't made a big enough transaction yet)
I do have to say that this IS terminal dependent, as not all terminals will accept higher payments.
