Root Hard brick issue (tried unbrick guide)

Hello,

Sorry to be a bother, but I've found myself in a predicament and could use some advice from more experienced "rooters". "Rescue Rooters" if you will.

I'm very new to the rooting world. It has been less then a week of having root access and already hard bricked the ol evo. I have an htc evo rooted with revolutionary, running decks ics alpha 5.

I was working out at the gym and everything was running fine, until i noticed i wasn't getting the message tone when i was receiving texts. No bother, checked the ringtone sound and went back to business. Post work-out i check my phone, notice i have the blinking green light indicating some kind of social goodie awaiting. But upon pressing the unlock button, i receive no feedback. So, I give the phone a good shake and try again. This time noticing that the 4 buttons on the bottom of the screen are lighting up. Thinking it could just be an issue with the rom. I proceed to pull the battery, wait 30 seconds, replace the battery and try to start fresh. So, I press the power, set the phone down and expect to see my phone coming to life. To my dismay, I get no response from the phone. Pacing through my options, I recall that I keep a spare fully charged battery with me, so I remove the original and insert the replacement. Same result. I arrive at home and plug the phone into the wall charger. Again, with no response. Being a young adult growing up with a computer, I first go to Google, which led me directly to the "how to un-brick your evo" guide on your forum.

I've spent the last hour following the steps and searching for other options with no luck. I apologize for the essay but wanted to be as thorough as possible. Please and thank you for any help or feedback on my situation.

I would get no response. Tried the 3-5 steps more then five
times. Eventually I gave up, put the phone back together and threw it on the wall charger
for the night and when I awoke this morning there was a solid green light and I am happy to report I am sending this message via my phone. No data was wiped, no issues at all. No logical explanation as to why. But once again, I am a proud evo owner.

Ok... I see this pretty often with all the ics roms, and a lot of gb aosp roms.... When the buttons at the bottom light up, it means the phone is doing its normal thing, but for some reason, it didnt send the signal to light up the screen... just swipe it to unlock like u normally would if the screen was lit, and almost always, the screen wakes up, and ur back in business...

However... I did notice with jareds newest ics rom, just swiping to unlock didnt always work, and would sometimes have to tap the power button a few times before it would finally wake...

Try pulling the battery and when its out, hit the power button a few times to make sure there is no charge left in the phone. Let it sit for about 20 minutes then put the battery in and plug it into the charger but leave it off. See if in a few minutes the charge light comes on. Not sure this will work but I had to do this to mine once or twice and it seemed to be ok after. If you get no charge light then you might be out of luck.

first of all you should never use rom manager. it is way to buggy and you should be doing everything manually anyways. second you should never pull the battery out while radios are being flashed. you actually might have bricked your phone. try what has been suggested, if they do not work then i hope you have insurance or something as i have never seen a fix for this.

good luck
