Have the Launcher Pro issues been resolved?

Initial GT3

I was a long time user of Launcher Pro (paid version) but then a few months ago I was having some horrendous lagging and freezing issues that I determined where being caused by Launcher Pro, I uninstalled and switched to GO Launcher and haven't had any issues since. I checked the market and a lot of people were leaving bad reviews saying that the developer had just bailed on the issue and that the anticipated update to resolve these issues never came. I checked the market today and saw that a lot of people have been leaving positive (5 star) reviews so I'm wondering if all of the issues have been fixed? Anyone care to shed some light on this?

Thanks in advance.

ive never had any issue with LauncherPro

I downloaded it today... I tried Go Launcher Ex but it was too much of a battery drain for me, still checking out battery drains on launcher pro, haven't reached a conclusion...

but my experience with it so far has been pretty positive in terms of lag and freezing. It froze on me once, but I think that was the fault of a rogue app I had just installed (and promptly deleted). I'm noticing a bit of a stutter the first time it loads something up (say your app drawer or shortcut list) but after that it's smooth sailing.

edit: I'm not rooted, so i can only imagine overclocking would fix the stutter. i think it's only a problem right after you've booted up your phone anyway

I'm in the same boat as you, I was having a lot of lag and freezing issues that were supposed to taken care of in a big rewrite of LP. I've been using Go Launcher EX since then without a problem. Go Launcher also has more features now than LP does, I love the swipe gestures.

I myself have never had a problem with Launcher Pro. But the whole anticipated update has been frustating to wait for.

I dumped LPP for GoLauncher and didn't spent too much time looking back. I checked the 8.4.1 update on Gingerbread vs GoLauncher, and the lag was still there. LPP was better than in the past, but Go was noticeably snappier, especially on screen rotations. And the way LPP does the "continuous" screen flip by going through the home screen is positively amateur compared to Go's seamless flipping. FWIW, I have noticed no appreciable battery life difference between the two.

I switched to Go and never looked back. Had a lot of lagging with LP also.
I like the layout of Go better anyway.
Likewise, no noticeable battery difference.

I had problems with LPP redrawing every once in a while (Android closes the launcher program and it has to re-open), but I cured it by changing some settings. When I switch to GB, I decided to give Go a try and was happy with it until I got some redraws. Unfortunately, there are no settings to mess with in Go. So, I'm back with LPP.

If you had or have problems with Launcher pro, it was probably just your phone or some apps acting up. Maybe you should have tried reinstalling it to see if it fixes it. I never had a problem at all with LPP.

I wasn't the only one. Search the LPP forum for redraw and see how many hits there are.

I never had any major issues with LPP. It wasn't the snappiest launcher for me, as there was often a slight delay when switching between screens. It was never more than a split second, though, and the widgets were good enough that I used it for a long time. Been using SPB shell lately. Is it a huge upgrade functionally? Meh, nah, but it sure looks cool.

I dont think this many people can have an issue and call it a phone problem. I too had many freezing, FC problems and posted asking for help on the LPP forum and got nothing so I switched to Go Launcher and have not had any issues since! I am running rooted GB and still fine!
