Ever been in test mode?

Tell me what rom and version you were running when this happened.

Just a little research folks :)

Did you say test mode wow i been in 3 times . One was with the lunar rom. And twice with the number 2. Version 2.7 and the 2.4 version . o i forgot also when i went into that bootloop after freeing from the loop with the lgpnst it went straight to the test mode . .

Just happened to me today for the first time. My phone started freezing then it rebooted. I'm on number 2 rom with fuzzy's ky jellybean theme. Currently I am still in test mode :/

I have been seeing this happen to people a lot more often lately.... just trying to figure out why it is happening.

1 time for me so far

I think it was about to happen since the boot animation started for 3 seconds then again and again and again, I took the battery out in a quickie and let it sit for a bit

Mine has been doin some weird crap... has been going into a boot loop that it manages to find its way out of after the third loop. Just reinstalled from with no wipes and all is well

Mine happened while updating to ZVD BUT I know what caused mine. USB died during upgrade and I had to resort to the emergency phone book recovery option in LGNPST which will automatically throw you in test mode.

This is the lone clue I had in trying to figure the cause. The system detects a threat and closes it self off for protection.

I wonder if it was some type of software that LG was testing and wanted to test it on low to mid level devices before going out to the big boys. ???

If its a low to mid level device.... why they still selling it for 350 bucks?

What they need to be doin is going to ZVE with android Pork Chop Sandwich... we'dbe glad to test something like that for them. Amirite?

Thanx 4 the feedback fuzzels

My phone came with ZVB, I skipped ZVC bcz I don't fix what's not broken, and then updated to ZVD. Never been in test mode.

ZVC was supposed to fix a USB charging issue ZVB was having on some phones and it fixed it but started giving ppl rebooting problems, the ZVD cane out to fix the rebooting.

Well now what you saying is true about zvc but now lg needs to give out new phones cause instead of repairing anything they keep messing it up dam zvd was put out and it has no boot sound and a few other problems like this test mode wasn't such a problem until zvd was made correct me if not :mad: so lg what's up with the zve since we got zvb zvc and zva ?????

Mine was zvc out of box. Updated to zvd shortly thereafter. No problems test mode out of nowhere about 1 year later

See that's what i was saying i had zvb and zvc no problems til i got the zvd. I was told from lg themselves that the test mode comes from high lifetime calling. Someone also told me it a file called event log tags has something to do with it . But is it true i couldn't say i know since i reset the the lifetime callers didn't have much of a problem still trying it out .

dover, mine just did the same, exactly the same time frame and all,the test mode didnt work, the min and so just wouldnt stick, called metro,no help, went to metro store (1hour drive)for the lady to power it on and then tell me its broke,(ty)but since i just got the phone jan 19th still had a 1yr warranty with asurion,i think asurion should buy metro, they did more over the phone than metro and the roadtrip together!!! so ive not rooted it YET trying to see whats up with plain jane, noticed some updates that i wouldnt of got if rooted, but dont think the updates were anything special yet

happened to me four times, all the same way too. I just went into an app and it froze, was able to bring my notification bar down half way and then completely froze then it reboot itself.... and death mode occured >:|. luckily im like a pro at getting out of it now thanks to fuzziness.! I was on #2 ZVD

One thing i strongly recommend is that if your not in test mode now, best get a screenshot of your MIN because its not always the same as your phone #. Itll be easier to reprogram with that number.

That's funny you said that about the min i said that before and everyone told me i was wrong and it is the same as your phone number . But when i brought the device from lets talk dot com the lady told me from metro . Yes metro from the *490 that you can call she said write these numbers down and keep cause if your device needs to be programed u have the info . But i said that before it isn't the same .

no its not always the same, mine isnt, but i hate the test mode!!! its like the ring of death lol and every other device pops up with something, its a conspiracy to me lol,i wonder if the obama phones mess up lol

When metro started most MINs were the same as the phone number. As they got bigger they acquired more prefixes (the first three numbers after the area code) and for whatever reason these new numbers didn't match with their MINs. Then I found out that your phone number/MDN is just the number you give other ppl, and the MIN is what the computer/switch/towers reads your number as when you call/text, basically just like a pc reads binary codes: you type the letter "a" but for the computer understands it as "01" (which I don't think is the real binary for the letter "a"). So long story short, you dial 7275555555, and if the MIN is different the switch will read that as perhaps 7276666666. If you call your own MIN nothing happens as most times it is not a number in service because the MIN doesn't have a MIN, are you following? But in some cases MINs don't "sync" properly with given MDNs and the MIN has to be switched out with another one which means that in rare cases you'll call your MIN and someone may answer because you number was assigned a MIN which belonged to another number and was the same as that other number but it simply didn't work properly with that number so it had to be switched out.

Tired yet? Anyways, I hope you understood, if not, ask away.
