then you can just go into settings>apps>your browser and clear default settings. it should then ask you how you want to the required action to open.

Doesn't work. Tried many times. Let me get more into detail.
I got the new update by force. Was at work and tried to make a call to find my phone resetting with the new version. Since then nothing links to my apps like before. If I reply to an article on G+ and get a notification when someone else does it no longer allows me to hit the link and go to G+. Says G+ can't handle the link and says I must open in a browser. Same goes for Facebook,Twitter and anything else. When following a link that goes to the Google Market it no longer opens the Market App. Just loads in web view and more times than not is Full View even though my browser is set to Mobile View. I went to Sprint and they tried 4 different times to roll back my OS without success. Then I spend almost a week with HTC trying to fix it without success. After reading here I find it has something to do with Apple v Android and is a fix Google had sent out in the form of Sprint Optimizer. I was hoping to root and roll the OS backwards.
AlterRom only works with Google Play and Google+ although it looks like Google+ may not last much longer as it is beginning to give troubles. mikmik didn't work at all and neither has any other Rom yet. When PC36IMG runs when I go into the hboot it says no Recovery Image found. I am thinking this may be a problem because I see a lot of ClockWorkModRecovery posts. Doesn't matter to me if the rom is customized or plain stock so long as when I click a link that is to Twitter it opens my Twitter App like before or at leasts allows me the option to choose and set a default process to open links to the site.
Edit: I just flashed mikmik again and when I went into settings some options said are unavailable for 2.1. My Evo came stock 2.2 does that matter?

well you can always try a stock ota of your choice. go here:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/284413-roms-kernels-download-page.html and flash one of the previous rooted ota stock roms.
and i would ditch clockwork mod recovery as well. if you need help with that then go here:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...-rooting-gingerbread-2-3-5-dummies-guide.html and go to the HTCdev method and follow step#2 to switch recoveries to amon ra 2.3.

oh nice where did you find that?
you will need a file manager for that. i would really recommend Root Explorer (File Manager) which is not free or ES File Explorer File Manager which is free.
root explorer is cool because it has a great search function that you can do to search for something specific. you will need to switch permisions though in both apps from read only to read/write in order for you to change the name of the apk.
or any of the roms out there, but yes. some roms might have that edited out.
to put it simply the difference is how they are compiled. odexed is smaller, faster, but harder to theme. deodexed is slightly larger but can be themed more easily.

I flashed the 5.07 rom because it says the Apple Fix was worked around. At first it looked like it took care of my problem but no. It asks what operation I want to use to access Twitter either Twitter/Internet but it only loads Internet. No matter how many times I choose to use my Twitter app.

to be honest i never really noticed. just curios though, i tend to have issues with the app version vs using the actually website on my browser, any reason why you do not like to use twitter on your browser? its pretty much the same thing right? just curious is all.
The area I live in the Apps load faster than any Market Browser and a lot faster than the stock. It is strange but my Voice Signal is normally good no matter where I am keeping 2 or 3 bars at it's lowest. For some reason my 3g speed has always been a little slow.I set the apps to update frequently so By the time I scan upwards on the posts normally it will refresh in a quick manner.
huh ok so before you could do this, but with the latest ota, you could not, right? do you remember what software version you were on when it worked? also are you unlocked and s-on or are you s-off? if s-off what is your hboot?
well if you like you can use captains throwback's method and downgrade your misc partition so that you can roll back your hboot. this will allow you to use the 4.67 ruu (it is the one right before 5.07). you will be unrooted if you do so, but you will have at least the previous ota.
or another thing is to use tha capt's method and get full s-off with either revolutionary or unrevoked. run the ruu and you will be on the 4.67 software but still be rooted. you will just need a custom recovery, but you will still have s-off.
just some ideas i'm throwing out there as i have no idea on how to change the custom roms to fit with what you had with the previous software version.
no taco root only works with a locked bootloader and not an unlocked bootloader. you will have to use captain's method. really they are the same thing. you just need to skip the unlocking part of the guide as you have already done that.

ok first make sure usb debugging is turned on
the android folder you created during the HTCdev bootloader unlocker. hopefully you should still have all of the adb files there. right click while holding down shift and selecting open command file here. then type the command adb shell and go from there.
