Root Help Installing a Custom ROM on LG Esteem

Youre good! No sweat. ;)

Go into your settings and then go to applications> application manager and then at the top select system apps and find the market. Click it and then youll see "Clear data" just tap that and hit your home key and then open the market and use it as normal

Woohoo it worked! :D *high five*

I actually switched my ROM to the LDK. And I like it a lot better than the GingerSteem Extreme. But I did like the 5 slots on the bottom bar and the number to tell me the percent on the battery. Is there any way to get those back?

ADW launcher. Then dock options and choose 5 instead of 3 for icons at the bottom.

As for battery symbols and what not. You can go into Rom Toolbox and go into interface and click on Icon changer. From there you can change any icon you want, 4G, battery, service etc..... As always make a backup. You can back up from inside of there before you install those. A lot of cool things within Rom Toolbox just browse around and mess with it.
 
I installed ADW Launcher and I am having a hard time finding the calendar widget for google calendar? Does anyone know how I can add it using ADW Launcher?

I am also having a hard time installing/finding a weather widget like the one that came with the stock Esteem. Any ideas on that? :)

k first u gonna download the link imma post for,once thats done using your root explore go to sd card download/ then find that file u downloaded press on it copy it to ur system/ apps then paste bfor pasting it make sure u changed r/w to r/o its on ur right hand corner on top once u paste it tap it and install once its installed long press it go down to permission do it how im doing it
owner check read, write
group check read only
others check read only
after that then just reboot now u should have all stock widgets what ever launcher u use :)

Not all the stock bloatware and stuff though right? Like this isn't going to push all metro stock apps in which i will have to debloat again? You just mean i will have whatever is available on my phone currently?

Because the ROM I am running now, is LDK for ZVB and I was told to run the ZVC LDK ROM. But I just realized, I have to manually update my phone to ZVC using the LG Program and then reroot and install the ROM for the ZVC update right?

Perhaps that would help with my battery issue?
I also was told to run the Homeless kernel and that should help with the battery life as well?

yes ur right but u can use homeless kernel 1.3 that would save u slot of battery I use it and damn bro its bad a$%

I was able to find the .apk, install it and followed your instructions and it worked like a charm! :D
Thank you very much! I also installed the Homeless kernel, charging my phone up now and hoping it'll make a difference.

I have a question, what weather widget would you recommend that looks like the stock weather widget? Am I able to get that widget back? I tried taking the .apk that comes in the stock apps but it won't install. Any help on that??
