Root Help me!!!!!!

Okay so.. I rooted my LG optimis v with cyanogemod mod 7. I want to put it back to the way it was. But, when I go into rom manager and type everything in to swap roms, I have to hit the power button to finish. When I hit it, a clockwork mod symbol appears and will not go away. I then have to take out the battery and start all over again.. i just want to put the play store on it. I wiped all caches when I rooted it, so going back to factory settings isnt an option.. please help!!

Turn power off to the phone. Hold the home+volume down then the power button (all at the same time). Hold them until you see the LG logo, then you can let them go.

While in ClockWorkMod recovery the up/down volume buttons control the scrolling. The camera button is the one to use to select the option desired.
If your tying to restore a backup Or install a ROM and Gapps do all this:
In the recovery menu select "wipe data/factory reset", "wipe cache partition", "wipe dalvik cache" (found in the advanced section). Then go to the "mounts and storage" section and select "format boot", "format cache", "format data", and "format system".
Do not select "format sd card" as this will wipe all data from the sd card including the backup.

Go to the "backup and restore" section. Select "restore". When everything is done select "reboot system now".

Do not use any other button but the camera button to make selections. If you accidentally hit the wrong one, just hit it again to get back to the recovery menu.

Why do people always try using the power button before trying the camera button.....people always flash cwm on their om's and then they tell me it doesn't work blah blah blah, I tell them camera is select, menu does nothing, and to get out of the rom manager logo press power.......(sigh) time for a new signature.....
Can someone tell me the key combo to enter recovery on OV? Is it home+power+volume down?

If you are hitting power button it just blanks the screen and shows clockwork logo. Either the home button on camera button should be your select button

If you can boot into the rom than download flash image GUI and flash the iho recovery from the iho github website, that should fix the recover problem.

Maybe you should start from the beginning. What recovery did you install? When you flash a CM-7 ROM you need to flash the Google apps (Gapp's) as well. The Gapp's have the important apps like the Google Play.
What exactly are you doing with ROM Manager. ROM manager cannot wipe and format everything needed to install a CM-7 ROM. This will leave residual data that will corrupt the new ROM.
You need to download and put the ROM and Gapp's on the root of the SD card and flash them using your recovery. If your recovery is messed up, you need to flash a new recovery (you don't have to install the flash_image again).

Don't worry about the Title, it's just the thread my tutorial ended up in (it started as a response to a problem and after many edits for info update's it came out how it is now).
