Root Help Need Sprint Visual Voicemail on CM7

SHO_ONE

Android Enthusiast
I'm on build 12 of CM7 and honestly love it. I do miss 4G and the lack of visual voice mail is making it difficult. I don't seem to be missing much else. Does anyone have a copy of visual voice mail for CM7.... Please help...

Let me do some digging.

I stopped using Sprint Visual Voice Mail after I started using CM7 Nighties, went to Google Voicemail and got myself a Google Number. Best choice I made.

.. but I'll look around to see if I can't find an updated SVVM.

[APP] Sprint Visual Voicemail Update for Rooted EVO's - Android Forums

Try this one out. I am not sure how old the first one I sent was. This one was released 11.1.10

VVM Release dated 11/1/2010

This is the new Visual Voicemail update from Sprint. I have made this flashable for rooted users.

Instructions:
- Before flashing this you need to check /system/app/ and data/app for any files in there named (Sprint_VVM.com.coremobility.app.vnotes-1.apk, com.coremobility.app.vnotes-75.apk, com.coremobility.monkeys.fly.apk,(etc,etc.).
You will need R/W permission to delete it if it's in /system/app/
Delete the apk. using Astro, adb,Root Explorer or whatever.
- Download and flash the attached zip just as you would a ROM EXCEPT do not wipe!!! Just download and flash.

I did a titatium backup first of the visual voicemail from a Sense rom...then install GB...installed VVM from the APK, then did a titatium restore of data only on the VVM...VVM now works for me...

Thanks. Hadnt though of trying it that way. Guess I will give it a go tonight.

Google voice for the win, i know EVERYONE seems hesitant to get one but once your set up (takes literally 5 minutes) and you forward your voicemail to google, you never have to worry again, AND you can listen to your voicemail's online as well as get transcripts for free

I took the plunge.... Thanks to your salesmanship might I add! I'll check it out for a bit. My only question is, is there a charge for this? Will Sprint charge me phantom charges?

Google voice is strictly a Mobile network usage.
The only charge you'd get is if you call internationally. Up to 6 Cents a minute.

DAMM google voice ftw. If you have evo then ur number will be available. Voicemails into texts. Google is definately going to take over the world.

Google is definately going to take over the world.

Hardly a week goes by when I don't say this once or twice. Soon, we'll all be driving our GoogleCar to our GoogleJob and back to our GoogleHome at night.

(I for one, can't wait. It's gonna be Googletastic!).

I'm taking the GVmail plunge this weekend. I'm tired of loading up a ROM and finding out I can't get Sprint VVM to work. Google FTW.

I have always kept a Sprint vvm on my phone and never had an issue. I've been on Xplod for the last month or so with the latest Sprint vvm and it's worked fine. At the moment I'm on Warm 2.3 but don't care for the ROM. Has to many issues for me and horrible battery life. (No custom Kernel) I am going to remove it probably tomorrow. I actually went in and just copied the apk from System/apps and stored a copy on my SDCARD. I just side load it when I'm on a ROM that doesn't have it. And with the latest version I no longer have to go and physically move my voice mails that I want to save or need to save to the sd. the program will do it now.
