U wont get temp root nothing will work right now i found an lgup tool and helper tool for it so it will see our phone and b able to down grade with out bricking phone with the zv3 kdz so can get root and get good working twrp and maby get some custom roms

I just arrived late to the party. I am coming from the early development of the LG Tribute HD which is still unrootable at this point..I banged my head against the wall over that phone. Anyway I saw boost had twrp working on their stylo 2's so I picked one up from Virgin and its on V5. It's :/ I've been offered help and I'll gladly take it but as far as root is V3 the only version that can be exploited? I am downloading the V3,V5 and nougat asop sources right now and I have the source code so would building be worth it? PM me here or on XDA I don't have hangouts or whatsapp, really hoping on this one :)

If u can get the kdz zv3 thats on this forum and get it flashed then can get root its the only one with fast boot zv4 and up lg disabled it grrr i think its worth it
 
Have to do it a certain way im currently digging up all info on how using lgup has to b done as cvse mode whitch from what i have read it will wipe every thing more so then factory reset dose my wifes still on zv3 im on zv4 so i have been trying to get root if we can gwt the download root method to work or get the lg sig then we will gwy some were

wow awesome,thank you =) I don't mind the reset part as I have nothing on it yet, just out of curiosity is there any way to to pull this V6 upgrade without root somehow for future use? I have linux and windows at my disposal
 
Not that i know except on lg site for source code. I have the zv5 ota that got posted i havent figured out on how to do it yet im still learning

do you have the .zip file for V5 possibly? you can flash it through download mode and usb i believe if it is signed i wonder if root or bootloader unlock would be possible at that point? Im going to try and build v5 to start tonight and collect the files if possible for the downgrade with lg up. i don't know what it is but lg bridge, pc suite none of them even see my phone lol

cool I've heard of it but haven't used it yet. Do we need exact usb and adb and fastboot drivers on this one. im on windows 7 mostly but my drivers are sorta mixed up, even if midi is selected adb is activated? and on linux i have the latest fastboot and adb binaries but i just wanna get it right. thank you for your help it is MUCH appreciated i thought i was in the same boat as the tribute. my girl has the stylo 2 vm as well, we bought a pair but she went straight to nougat could her phone be downgraded to or is that a bad idea lol
 
There is another tool for flashing its not lg but it will flash lg kdz files i have to get the name of the orhere flash tool im moble right now

I have tried like 30 times to grab uppercut 1.0.0.0.zip and I get and network error everytime I get to the end of the download but I have the kdz along with the other files and I'd prefer to use use uppercut over the other tool just to avoid a brick. could you post me a google drive of uppercut so I can grab it if you have it on hand?
