Root Help Rooting LG Stylo 2

So guys, Me thinks I should just ditch this phone and pick up another type of VM phone. I've been looking at the Samsung J7, It's a slightly more powerful than the Stylo 2 and it's a Samsung. How is the overall "rootability" of that?

i have no idea

If can nuke laf then should b able to get fastboot mode in theory

I have REALLY bad news. I am out of development for awhile! My house was broken into last night, a few of my laptops and my dev phones were stolen (most except for my old kitkat phones) along with my external drives and my stuff got smashed up and i have replace both a window and door. My family is shaken up but ok, Roadkill its gonna be awhile until i can get another stylo, sorry my friend. This so sucks right now

Im flying blind not knowing whats im doing im gathering every thing i can on rooting this phone we are not the only one having this problem so it will come just dont know when

You find anything on this? I'm researching different kdz's right now trying to find a familiar one.
I looked around and alot of people are saying if you try to downgrade to ls775zv3 from any other version the device will hard brick. I dont want to take the risk tbh anyone else know?
I, like lots of others here am waiting for the really great guys here to find a good root with no bricking danger. So far i havent seen 1 to fully and safely root my lg stylo 2 boost variant. But i am hopeful they will find 1. They almost always do because they never ever give up.

I would not try that personally because i also have heard that some guys are bricking their phones trying that method...kdz seems to be the current research area to delve into but be careful

Okay. That's what I thought and the exact reason I haven't tried yet haha
You can view droidviews website and see many kdz and other lg info but until these pros here researxh it i wouldnt advise it. Now if i had an extra lg stylo 2 boost phone laying around, sure i would delve into it but since i only have 1 phone ill wait...the phone works beautifully but since i cant move files to sd nor use airplay nor anything else, those are some of the reasons i need root.

I tryed to flash the kdz zv3 get error of smaller in size then on phone did not brick either. The trick is the program to flash the phone has to b set to do a complete wipe so size of the zv3 wont matter certian lg flash or up programs that will have three modes to do the flashing cant get those to see phone. Havent mess with upper cut it is to help up or flaser to see ur phone in download

Sounds like you are sooooo close bro

Not quite a root method but I was able to edit the APN of LS775 ZV9 with my octoplus lg dongle today with their latest test software...I maybe able to remotely do it for people I will have to figure out how to do it first...it requires a special driver that acts as a usb driver over the internet so its just remoting to the device, not a full remote desktop...

Even if it's useless for root, maybe it could flip the selinux switch to permissive. Even that would be a step forward.
