Good suggestion. I thought that would do it. But, it is still showing one line. It did change a little though:

C:\Android>fastboot oem get_identifier_token
...
(bootloader)

I've tried it 3X now and this is the new look

ok go to the htc's website and download the latest htc sync. i think i have seen this before and this suggest worked. i can't remember what the latest version is now.

I downloaded and began to install it but got hit with this message:
htcsync.png


Am I downgrading to get results?
 
do you know which version you have? the one in my guide is 3.055. you can try uninstalling the one you have and then try the one you have just downloaded. not sure if this is the one that worked before.

Turns out that I have v.3.2.20 installed and it is not going to let me down grade :(

AAARG! Ok, so I unistalled it, reinstalled it, but no change. I should crack the screen on this phone and have them give me another
 
After you install htc sync you should immediately uninstall it. It can interfere with the process, you only need to install it for the drivers and they stay behind after the uninstall and then once you successfully get your token you can always reinstall it if you use it.

Edit: That did not work either. Really thought that was it, too
 
good call. i was thinking that as well. but i have had htc sync installed on my pc when i rooted my phone and never had an issue like this. but that is a great suggestion though.
 
Yeah, that it what I did.

Edit: Just tried to fastboot it again and this is what I got:

ok just fishing right now as i have not seen this exact issue before. have you tried the htc sync version in the guide, 3.0.55 version?

No, I was in bed...my eyes were gettin heavy but this thread had me perplexed;) Laid down in bed with phone for a little bit and BOOM!--out like a light w/phone in hand:)

I wonder if the website (htcdev site) was having issues last night...also wonder if he tries it today--Sunday--it will work.

i do not think the first part in getting the token needs to be synced in with the HTCdev website. it is pulling the token from fastboot. you will need the website to send the token, once it has been copied and pasted. so i doubt that is the issue. i could be wrong though.
