Highly Doubting 24th Release date

Wow! I have to go to the TB section to find out that moto's unlocking the Xoom! One thing I'd add to this topic. The average user will have no use for a dual core and the TB has sense ui. Biiiig plus.

Now, having said that, if Moto listens to my beef and unlocks the Bionic, that'll probably be my next phone. If not, over to HTC I go.

I've been priming my wife, already, that I'm a new-phone-every-year-type guy. So far she hasn't screamed at me. This is good. ;)

if the bionic has an unlocked boot loader and this device doesn't come in February it looks like i will be trying the motoblur after all.

think about this, if this phone would have released in 2010 as originally planned we could have gotten it on a one year deal, upgraded in ten months skipped dual core phones and gone to perhaps quad core. or at the very least gotten a dual core when android was programmed for them. with the release dates being so close now, its a different ball game.

heck, its questionable if this will even be the first 4g device at this point.

My Point 100%...I feel the same way!

No harm no foul then, since if the TB came out in late 2010, it would not have a decent chipset update and no 4g. Simple EVO for VZW. Droid X already is better than that ;)

Still, Tegra 2 blows the single core 8255/8655 away and has a better gpu than the 205 gpu. Maybe waiting WOULD be better. Also, for Netflix app fans, the Tegra 2 has DRM, so getting that app or sure, per Nvidia.

Samsung S2 and a whole gang of other phones are just around the corner. So the Thunderbolt's window is going to close pretty soon now.

The more they fart around with the thunderbolt the better the bionic looks.
My issue with the bionic is the bootloader.

I DO NOT want to be locked into another Motorola phone gimped by bootloader.
This is why the thunderbolt is looking rather nice to me.
That window is closing for me....

By the time the "Blunderbutts" release the "Thunderbolt", there will be Quadcore phones out there!

JUST RELEASE THE FRIGGIN' PHONE ALREADY!!!!!!!!!

I completely agree. Verizon needs to step up to the plate and do something soon before they alienate current and potential customers.
Enough is Enough

My buddy that's a manager at a verizon store says the 24th, even their emails do. He also said they did the same thing with the incredible and after reading the fiasco with the inc the S2 and lg revolution look appealing

Its possible! But I Just have a feeling this thing is not coming until Mid March...

Just got confirmation from two different sources today.
1. My wife works for the Verizon Call Center as an tier 2 LNP coordinator, and did training on programming and provisioning 4g devices today. The test device they were using? The Thunderbolt! She got to play with it and she really liked it. The trainer told them the device is scheduled for a tenative release on the 28th.

2. I work for an inderect agent of Verizon. Emails from our Inventory Control supervisor sent out today said they expect the phones to be at our main offices and distributed out to all the stores by the end of the week. But that as of right now the release date is the 28th.

In both instances my wife and I were told that it is still subject to change.

I hope the March 16th date listed on this Thunderbolt Ad is not a hint of its release date...I was hoping for the 24th of Feb!:(

I'm hoping that was the original release date, and anything before that is the "coming soon" they were referring to. PS DON'T Burst my bubble on this. lol

Thank you, haven't seen you around for a while, always had good information. I bet the 28th is the day they have in mind to release it now, but I bet there is a good chance they bump it back as well.

Just got a call from vzw in reference to a survey I took rating their service.
They were upset because I gave them a bad rating (because of this cluster f_ _ _ ). She said she real sorry that corporate treated us like this on new releases but they treat the employees the same way (no info ). She said that they find out a day before the release if they are lucky. Said she would send a report about the disappointment we are feeling to corporate. LOL
She kept saying how sorry she was etc.,etc.,etc.
Whatever

why are yall giving bad reviews to verizon over this? unless I missed it Verizon has not given an official release date, so until they do noone has anything to complain about. sure they could have done better by giving us a date sooner, but that is nothing to hold against them.

if Verizon did give a date and I missed it well then I suppose the bad reviews are justified. otherwise I think it is kinda childish

Because you don't do a ton of advertising on tv and the net about a new product and then when a customer asks questions about when it might be available say " I don't know". That's bad marketing and customer relations.

I laid down $50 at BB over 2 weeks ago like thousands of others. I don't think it's to much to ask for a little info regarding why I still do not have the phone in my hand. My feedback to Verizon was based solely on poor communication, and the fact that they are plastering their 4G commercials all over Mars and back with nothing to show for it. What good is a 4G network when you have no phone to run on it? I (like the thousands I spoke of) would just like to know why they authorized a presale so early, if they knew they couldn't deliver the phone in a timely manner. <----Thats just my opinion, yours may/will vary.
