Root How can I increase Available amount of RAM?

I am using a Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro on AT&T network. At times I am using 750 of 800 MB of available RAM which really slows down my phone. When it reaches 0 MB of available RAM my phone often crashes and does an automatic restart or sometimes I have to manually restart it. I looked up all the apps that I had running on my phone and added up the total memory usage but it added up to only 193 MB so something isn't right here. Would rooting my phone and removing all the AT&T/Samsung bloatware increase the amount of available RAM? And if so does anyone know of a good guide for my specific phone?

I've moved your thread over here to the all-things-root area for your device since your questions leaned a bit towards rooting topics.

Before attempting to root it, however, have you tried clearing your cache from some of your apps (the browser app is always a large cache consumer). Clearing cache (Settings -> Apps -> select app -> Clear cache can be a temporary solution since apps (properly) use cache to enhance their operation).

Anyway, I'll let the root folks for your device give you their advice (root-related or not) since they'd know best.

IMO, you don't need to. Check this out, and especially read the second paragraph under How Android Manages Processes (It might be out of date on the apps since it is about 4 years old)

Heck, I'm using a Samsung with JB 4.1.2 and right now it's at the homescreen, no apps running, and I have 84MB of 450MB free. Your phone shouldn't crash due to lack of RAM.. are you sure it's in a stable state? Are you maybe running apps that may not be fully compatible with your phone?

The only way to really add more RAM is to adjust the allocation tables in the kernel. Since the max on stock is around 800, there's not much to be reclaimed before you run into issues (like audio not working).

The best trick I've found for smooting out this device is actually my personal custom kernel (available as source on github), but I need to fix WiFi before releasing it as a flashable file. Even after a day's use, my device doesn't slow much, and I'm bad about not clearing the RAM.
