Root how do i do a nandroid backup?

well my hboot is 6.16 if thats what you mean?

ok that is your hboot. your recovery is what you use to flash roms and make nandroid backups. so go to recovery: power off then press and hold power+vol down. that will take you to hboot. select recovery. it should tell you what you have.

anyways here is how you will do a nandroid backup:
1.go to recovery
2.select backup and restore
3.select backup
4.if you have amon ra make sure to select wimax. always have one nandroid backup with wimax saved on your computer.
5.reboot when done.

ok if you didn;t switch recoveries the you have clockwork mod and the steps will be the same. however i would use the http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/395962-guide-rooting-gingerbread-revolutionary.html and go to the switching recoveries section and switch to amon ra2.3. it is a much better recovery in my opinion.

titanium backup only should be used to backup your apps and data. do not use it to restore system data as it will have some bits and pieces of your previous rom and will create problems with your current rom.

contacts are saved in with google unless you entered them as phone then you will have to change it to google. so when you flash the rom and sync with google then your contacts will be restored. you can use sms backup or even messaging apps like go sms pro can save them to your card. your pictures and such are on your card as well.
