alright im at the fastboot plugged into comp followed the other instructions because my cmd wasnt registering i type fastboot devices in other command widow and i get about 20 random numbers and letters and just sits there at minimal adb and fastboot dont and have no idea how to get recovery image to the phone it just keeps trying to burn a dvd when i click it

do you have stock recovery or did you try flashing the desire 610 recovery? I didnt have any issues at all getting the new twrp recovery flashed. i have a backup of the stock recovery if you would like to try flashing that first. Then flash twrp over that after a reboot?

I got stock recovery

hmmm, try a fastboot boot recovery.img and see if the recovery boots up for you then. oh btw are you on boost or cricket? the recovery he posted doesnt work with the cdma variant i believe.

Quoted from you know where JMZ said
"The current A11_CHL is wrong. So I couldn't even compile a kernel for CDMA folks."

All you need to do is make sure you install the htc drivers and also try and install the adb fastboot universal driver from xda. It provides a lot of useful drivers. Just follow these steps:

1. Turn off your phone
2. Hold the volume down button and then hold both the vol down and power button until HBOOT pops up.
3. Then scroll to the fastboot option with the volume keys and press the power button.
4. Now your in fastboot. You can now connect your phone to your computer.
5. Next on your pc search device manager and open device manager.
6. Check and make sure under android usb devices it says my htc.
7. Now open command prompt without elevated permissions.
8. Enter fastboot devices and it should show your device.
9. You are now ready to flash the recovery.
10. Download the recovery image and rename it rec.img and type something like "fastboot flash recovery C:/Users/***/Downloads/rec.img" without the quotations.
11. After it finishes just scroll to the HBOOT option on your device and click the power button and scroll to the recovery option and click the power button. Bam TWRP on your desire.
I keep getting the image cannot be loaded? any help for a noob?.. my bootloader is unlocked.. typing in the right commands and a million different tries.. always the same.

I know about the S-Off but it requires root privilege which I don't think is available for the HTC desire 510 yet, or am I wrong? Because I've searched all over for it and cannot find any methods.

Follow this link and do it exactly as it instructs, you need to be bootloader unlocked and you need the htc drivers installed through HTCsync as well as debugging enabled. The commands need to be done through fastboot.

This is for the 32 bit variant only.

You don't need s-off for this root. You also do not get s-off through this root. Shinru is working on a custom kernel for that to work on Cricket devices. But other 32 bit devices like virgin/boost/and sprint are stuck with s-on until HTC releases a kernel for those devices.

cmd on comp wont bring up any devices have to use the minimal adb and fastboot but no matter what i do it always comes up unknown error when trying to load image i have done every step to the t and it will not unlock usb debbugging on bootloader unlocked but no flash

ok ive been watching this post an i cant understand i thing you guys are saying is there a root method for the the 510 or not? i dont care how i just wanna get rid of this stupid blotware
