Root How do you clear the /cache partition?

I've been running Kings Alliance rls1 for a couple days and noticed that I've gotten to the point where I can no longer restore apps with TB, install updates from the market or install new apps from the market. Each time I try those 3 things I get a "install failed" or "invalid package" message. After reading up on this some, it appears that "invalid package" is because there is not enough cache left to install the .dex files (this would be /cache if looking with terminal emulator). I have a few questions related to this:

1. How can I clear /cache to free up space? Is it safe to do this? I tried wiping cache in recovery, but it only cleared a few mbs and I don't even know if that was the right path to take in the first place.

2. Should I move cache to the SD card? I assume I can use a2sd cachesd to do this.

3. My last resort is to use link2sd which works pretty good when I was using a different rom, but I want to see if I can get dta2sd to work first with the first 2 questions I posed.

Thanks in advance!:)

1. Maybe something cache cleaner ng from the market can help
2. Make sure you have a fast sd card if you do this
3. I'm not familiar with King's roms all that much but what does he have set up? He probably has instructions in his first, second, third post on xda. Or look over in mikmik.com where he also has his rom posted. There may be some further instructions there

i had the same issue with the kinged kingdom rom. unfortunately, i could not find a solution for it. i moved onto the kingdom rewind and it uses darktremors a2sd instead of the cm based scripting. and so far so good with this rom.

1.have you tried to clear sd ext.?
2.if it is dt supported i believe that should help
3.i have not tried that, gonna have to link into that app.

1. Ok, I'll give that a try. I notice there's different caches so I'm not sure what does what. There's app cache that certain apps clear (apps2sd and quick sys info pro come to mind), but that didn't work for /cache.
2. Yes, I have a class 10 patriot.
3. I'll take a look, but I didn't see anything on this in the kings alliance thread...maybe mikmik.com might have something.

1. I didn't clear sdext the 2nd time I flashed kings alliance. I had problems when I ran a2sd reinstall.
2. DTa2sd is being used by this rom as I can do an a2sd check right off the bat. So you think I should try a2sd cachesd?
3. link2sd works pretty well from what I saw. Internal mem does drop, but not nearly as much as froyo apps2sd.

well it does not hurt to try it the a2sd cachesd and see what happens.

This is moving davlik to the /cache partition correct? How can this be possible if /cache is already near capacity? I don't want to get into a boot loop.

*update* My bad, cachesd moves davlik to the SD card. Maybe I will give it a try, but it won't clear space in the /cache partition. I don't remember having this problem before. How does the cache partition get full? On Myn's 2.2 I had close to 150 apps and didn't encounter this problem.
