I use an invisible shield, only touch the top part of the phone to my ear. I don't put anything else at all in the same pocket with the phone, and I just wipe it off with my shirt when I've been rubbing my thumbs all over it for long periods of time. Invisible shields are truly excellent if you don't butcher the install.

Do you use the invisible shield to cover the whole phone?

I have a thick rubber case. I dropped it on the floor the other day (I've had it since launch) and I thanked my lucky stars it was in a rubber case. It hit the top corner first and it definitely lessened the impact. It's like it fell on a mini pillow instead of a hard surface.

Nope, just the screen. I'm waiting for Otterbox to release their commuter case for the Captivate; Had one on my old iphone, loved it to death. Saved my clumsy ass more than a few times.
