you could have returned it and gotten a new one. it's still under warranty, all triumphs are, they haven't been out more than a year yet.

at worst, if you wanted to switch companies, could have gotten the new one and sold it for a couple hundred.

I guess I just got lucky, but I'm sure glad I didn't get one as bad as y'all seem to have gotten!
It's a shame really, though. Even though Moto just rebranded the phone, they still put their name on it. You'd think they would care more about their rep.
How long until Google takes over? Has that buy out ever been approved?
