Help How long does it take your captivate to charge?

The only thing, on the Iphone, it showed a full battery, but it might not have been full. Atleast the Captivate tells you when its a full charge.

Now don't be ridiculous. When did the Iphone ever report inaccurate information about its status?

So I guess the Captivate is the kind of phone that is going to be charging while at home, in the car, and at work.

Getting better results with mine. Fully dead battery and within about 15 minutes it jumps up to about 30%.

My battery seems to be getting better if this is possible but I charge it overnight and I guess the "new toy" fun factor has worn off a bit. Still loving the phone though

It's like a roller coaster, takes forever to go up the hill (charging,) but you get to the bottom really fast (dead battery.)

Mine takes a LONG ass time! And its plugged into the wall, not sure why...
my battery drains while it's plugged into any power source. it is still in the red and i left it charging overnight. it is still plugged into the usb port on my computer and has been since 7:30 this morning and it is still showing a red battery. it hasn't even moved into yellow. wonder what gives?

I charge mine overnight, so unless there's a place I can look to see how long it took, I'm not waking up to find out!

Considering everything these phones do, I'm pretty happy when I have no problems making it through a full day without recharging. During typical week day I've got all data turned off (no wifi and I'm in front of a computer - why pay AT&T for the same data?). Playing MP3s is my biggest drain. Once I get home, I have to use it pretty continuously on wifi for 4+ hours to kill the battery, and then I have to work at it.

The first weekend I had it I got 8 hours of continuous use (web, apps, etc etc - I almost literally never put it down) before the battery died. Not bad in my book.

Exactly my problem. My phone takes 12-14 hours to charge. I am talking to AT&T tomorrow.

3 hours about for me. i have a wallcharger i leave one battery in and cycle through.

and also it charges slower when plugged into usb, just an fyi

from "RED BATTERY" status which is 11% or so it took 6 hours to charge via USB to my computer.

from that same "RED BATTERY" status it took me around 2.5 and 3 hours to fully charge via wall charger.

and i did another test. from that same "RED BATTERY" status it takes 2 hours to charge when the phone is turned off. that is an hour or 40 min difference compared to having the device ON and working while being charged/

yea it does take alot of time. but i realize that it charges faster from around 70% on the battery, so after its charging i go about my business and give it a quick little recharge at 70% which only takes 30 mins because that gives me a little bit of boost to get me through the day

I charge while I am sleeping and I think it takes up to 4 hours. I have Wifi switched on and don't allow it to go to sleep when I am charging so my phone won't use the 3G radio. I think this may help some people get a faster charge.

I really don't know. I plug mine in when going to bed at night and it's fully charged 7 hours later when I get up. I use it all day, partially on wi-fi -- though I don't use the GPS every day. It's almost never below 50% when I plug it back in.

Takes about 3 hrs from 10% in the Samsung external charger. I usually just swap batteries and hardly ever connect my phone to the wall charger-very convenient that way and no worries about leaving it plugged in after its fully charged-seems like some folks attribute that to the random shut down issue

I agree with the idea of a 2nd battery. I do that and don't have to worry about plugging in all the time. Two batteries will easily last the whole day even with heavy use. When I swap out, I put the other in the battery charging unit. Also helpful in that I'm not charging my batteries when they are only half discharged, so better utilization.

Uninstall any Task Killers you may have installed. In your case the TK may be killing your battery instead of saving it.

Yeah, as others have said, getting a second battery is a great idea. I finally forked up the $10 (yes, just $10 with shipping) to get two spare batteries + a battery charger from eBay. Great deal.
