motorola locked down to hell the ROOT of the droid X, Samsung leaves their files wide open, for developers/Root/ROM's I think Samsung is the clear winner.I had a Samsung Omnia and it took forever to lock on to GPS (and sometimes wouldn't) .... seems I made the right decision to stick to getting the X. The GPS thing must be a Samsung issue.

If you get one phone and have problems, send it back and get another. If you have problems with the second device, it was junk from the beginning. Why people waste so much time and effort replacing phones is a mystery to me. Especially samsung. Not really known for high quality devices.
Spoken like a true Eris fanboyMy sister and I are both rolling with our original Fascinates.
1. No GPS issues
2. No weird echo issues
3. Great battery life
4. Great signal and call quality
After rooting, de-bloating, de-binging and launcher pro-ing:
1. No GPS issues
2. No weird echo issues
3. Even better battery life (less bloat + autokiller set to "optimum"
4. Still same great signal and call quality
5. Wireless tethering
6. Even more customizable and efficient launcher setup
In short, the most awesomest, perfectest, badassiest phones we've EVER had. Don't get me wrong, the Droid X is equally awesome, for a few different reasons. Mr. X Factor already knows them, and why I ultimately went with the Fascinate instead, as I've posted on multiple threads ...

I'll more then likely be keeping my Fascinate unless Best Buy has a killer phone on one of the next three Friday's of October. The only beef I have w/ the phone is that it never gets over two bars of signal, whether inside, outside, in town, or in the middle of nowhere lol. I have no problems with call quality or anything like that though. But it does say that about half of my battery life is due to not having a signal. ( In my phone it says it's out of signal about 80% of the time, which seems absurd to me... ) Other then that, I'll wait for the Froyo update then I'll root the phone to awesomeness.![]()
Are u gonna try another Fascinate or another Android phone? That could have just been a bad phone.
Har har har.
Have you rooted now? Rooting, de-bloating, and installing autokiller seemed to help my Fascinate with speed, stability, and battery life, in a noticeable way. Also, enable the power saving features in your display/brightness settings.
I haven't rooted yet. I just don't want to have to root a second time when Froyo finally comes out. Also, what other power saving features does the Fascinate have minus the Power Saving Mode to adjust the screen brightness?
If you buy a fascinate from ebay and it ends up having issues, can you exchange it within the first year for the one year warranty?
No if you buy it from ebay you dont get a one year warranty thats only if you buy it through verizon or another site(bestbuy, wirefly, etc)
