TBH, i'm not an artist and not much of a creator. just tend to have the time to spend sitting and converting and renaming and overall just reformatting other people's boot anis into usable shutdowns

and not to sound dumb, but wth is Nights in White Satin?
 
I tried to replace the boot animation on dl30 superclean and all I get is a black screen. The phone boots normally but with no animation. Just wanted to get it out there, and I will try again in the morning, need my sleep there is going to be a little snow to shovel.

i havent personally tried yet...but i dont think the kernel supports custom boot anis as of yet
 
There is something out now to give you custom ani's. jt even made a rickroll kernel last night but I guess the sound didnt play. And when I say rick roll I literally mean rick roll, good times

Hey guys, does EB01 SuperClean 2.1 support boot ani's as yet? I put one in /data/local, and still get the black screen on startup (which gives me a near attack every single time).

I have the droid pee on apple boot ani on mine running SC 2.1v. The boot sound isnt working though put a poweron.wav in the /system/etc and got no sound

and no shutdown ani either, put the png's in the video shutdown folder and nothin....

Yeah I do know bootani are available on SC 2.1 and with the voodoo kernel as well. I cannot say Im dropped one in yet as I only reboot my phone on rare occasion and havent bothered so I cannot comment about sounds. I assume it would be the same as before, perhaps not
 
The boot animation IS supported, I have one running on mine with voodoo superclean 2.2. The android scribble with PINK burst is so purdy :p
 
Thank you everyone for fielding the questions here :)

I'm on SC2.3 voodoo but I have yet to try custom ani's or sounds with it. This makes me want to try though...

EDIT: The new 2.4 update supports boot ani's for the non-voodoo version.
 
So I have searched and searched, but I cannot find anywhere people have sounds for boot up or shutdown. I would love to see what people have out there, and searching the web for sound fx just doesnt reveal anything I want. i really would like a start up sound kind of like the voodoo install voices, telling you initializing and doing this and doing that...obviously not accurate but just some cool sounds that do that. I havent found anything like that anywhere...anyone able to help?
 
quick question... wat if i have an animated JPG file can i also use it as a boot animation? or doi have to convert the animation to AVI or wat? Thanx...

i just rooted my samsung fascinate, but still running the stock 2.1 OS
