Root How to Install Clockwork Mod Recovery 2.5.1.8 for the Huawei Ascend

If you root your phone and then reflash it to stock can your phone carrier tell?

See If froyo was official i could be lazy and just root, clear the bloatware and run netflix.

I hardmodded my xbox cause I could boot all the bioses including stock.

To bad that isn't possible with this.

only way they know is if you tell them, other to that, NOPE lolz
 
Yeah, the in-store people generally have little to no clue about anything modding-related. Hell, half the time you're lucky if they even know anything about the phones themselves, other than the price.

just extract the folder with winrar to your desktop and run fastboot-windows and run install-recovery-windows and it will install cwm...i put the folder 2gether to make it wasy for new ascend users.
 
I have no idea where to even begin to fix this, so here I am again.

For some reason, after I installed CWM, my PC won't recognize my SD card. Even worse, when I connect my Ascend to the PC, it doesn't even open up that prompt that says "open folder to view files" or anything. So essentially, now my PC won't even recognize my phone as a device.

I've tried formatting the cards, rebooting the computer, doing a factory reset on my phone, everything. I really want to get this Icarus OS on my phone, but I've had a hell of a hard time doing it.

Anyone know how I can fix this?

pull down the notification bar and tap usb...

I tried all of that. Tried turning off/on every setting imaginable, every combination, etc.

I just upgraded to 2.2 and that fixed it. Someone told me to do that just now - will that screw my chances of installing Icarus?

no, just install cwm 2.5.1.8

yep i big down fall, but some peoples phone cant handle cm6/7 and some just like icarus better, but idk lol, i would suggest cm6/7 for anyone...;)
 
Quick question for those with a rooted ascend.
My brothers phone is stuck at the Huawei screen whenever he powers it on.
I was going to tell him to put the phone in recovery and reboot from there but I forgot what buttons are needed to be push to get into recovery. Thanks for the response in advance.
 
Hi, I have the cricket ascend, and everytime i try to go into recovery more, it always gets stuck on the huawei logo screen. I've waited for about an hour and still nada. Also I've tried doing a factory reset and the same thing happens. Anyone know why an how to fix this?

did you press vol up, end key and tap power?
 
where can i download the CWM Recovery 3.0.0.5, I'm about to root again, and i need the exe. download, so can anybody supply me with the latest download link of CWM?
 
i put the old clock mod back on so i could have icarus again as a back up incase something happened, i tried loading it through fast boot like i did before and it wont go i still just wind up on teh old 2.5.1.8
