Root How to install CyanogenMod 7.2 - Huawei Fusion 2

Here is a idea try and run the cwm installer and don't install just see if it will work if so I can make a version for the root files or install cwm and try cyanogenmod that is stock rooted I believe

Figured it out - APN settings. Delivery and Read reports not needed.

What I changed:
MMSC: mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Port: 80

I'm now running cm7.2. It seems pretty stable. I backed up using titanium backup before loading cm 7.2. I have none of my old things such as notes or contacts. It's basically like I erased everything and have a new system. I can access my pictures and music from the sdcard but that's all. Is this normal? I would really like to have all my contacts back if at all possible. When trying to import from the simcard or sdcard it says that there is nothing there.

Next time you flash a rom remember to have your contacts synced to Google. They won't go away ever again unless you change your Gmail account name.

Hi Guys,

I flashed the cm7.2, and everything seems to be working fine, except that I cannot enter PIN. If I put my SIM card in another phone and disable PIN, then the phone starts, registers correctly to the network and works ok. But if PIN is enabled, cm7.2 asks for the PIN and then displays that the PIN number is incorrect.

It seems that it doesn't try to check the PIN with SIM at all, since when I put SIM card into another phone, I still have 3 PIN tries left (which is default number of tries).

I was able to just go back in to my backup that cwm made and have my old system. THAT is a cool feature. I saved my contacts via backup to sdcard under /sdcard/Contact/00001.vcf. The cm app is able to read that file format and load all the contacts.

I don't use Google for anything except email. I don't sync with them. I don't use their cloud.

I'm also curious as to calendar entries, notes and documents. I'm aware that Google probably has a place that they would love me to save them to but is there a way besides that that you're aware of. I'm working on a way to sync them without going thru google.

Big thanks and good on you for your work providing this to the masses. It does look good.

Disable pin unlock use pattern

It helps, but if I the phone is stolen, somebody can take out the SIM, and use it in another phone (or just make factory reset on this one).

I am using pattern, but I would like to be able to use SIM protection on the card. Is this like a known bug in cm 7.2, and is there a workaround/fix?

Yes there are other ways. But pointless ways Google syncing is the easiest for many reasons. Use titanium backup or carbon to backup otherwise. (Google saves your info to make searches cater towards you. Its not like Google is handing out your info to mess with you over or give to the government...)

After saving the contacts as a file to the card in the stock ROM, CM 7.2 was able to load all the contacts from the file into the new messaging app. I couldn't get google to sync anything ie: contacts, calendar (it was never a paranoia thing, just personal preference) I lost all my calendar entries but went back and retrieved them using CWM and loading the old ROM image and re-entering them into the new calendar.

CM 7.2 is nice and stable.

Big bug
When you go into Cyanogenmod settings and go to lock screen then go to style options then go to ring-lock style and pick blade style it reboots the phone and boot loops and it cant be undone without resetting the phone and re installing the Rom, please fix this issue.

Unfortunately it's built into the build and unless anyone wants to rebuild system setting apk it's going to stay :'(

Oh rad. I've encountered some people that think Google is going to hoard their info and lock them in a concentration camp or something. Lol.

its because of you r apn settings have to be changed there are none you have to do it manually

Just installed cm7, great job on the rom. I am having a problem now when I shut the phone off and plug in the charger. It goes to the At&t screen and hangs, as if it's in fast boot. The only way to reset it is a battery pull. Anyone else having this issue. Thanks again for all the hard work you guys have done on this rom and the instructions to make it all work.

I just tried this to see if it got stuck at the AT&T logo.

It did show the logo for about 5 seconds, then switched to a battery icon, to indicate that it was charging.

that's what I was expecting, but mine will hang. After 10 minutes I have to do a battery pull. Any ideas as to why this is happening ? I may have to reinstall everything if there is nothing else to correct the issue. Thanks for trying yours. At least I know that I should be able to correct this.

I didn't leave it in for ten minutes. I will try when I get home, and get back to you.

I can work around this and get the phone charged by not powering off and plugging in the charger. It takes a charge with no problem this way. I even tried a different cable and charger, but no luck.
