Is it safe to remove the partition from the sd card? If so, how do I go about doing that?

Icarus 1.0 Cricket installed successfully.
sorry all been away for a few, but if its ok i can upload the mms.apk file for all who needs there mms fix, and btw you will also need root explorer, i have that also...
Holy cow. If my root took that many steps, I'd be stepping down. Seriously. You've got my respect. I also agree. What may seem like a stupid question is actually a question that could be the variable between a brick and a success! There's never a wrong path to root or rom installations so long as the job gets done correctly.
The procedure I described includes creating a save folder and I recommend that all phone actions flow through that, regardless of your preferred OS.
I strongly recommend that for all users, regardless of OS, because if a phone is lost or stolen or dies and you replace it, you can't guarantee that the files that are on servers today will be on servers tomorrow - that is an unfortunate but not uncommon issue I see in many forums.
In my case, under my EVO folder, is a complete history of every app, rom, kernel, nandroid and SD card backup I've ever done - I've even gone so far as to make PDFs of the instructions I've used.
The actual need for that is statistically quite low - but not zero.
When your first root effort takes 78 steps (more for Windows users) like mine did, you learn to wear a belt and suspenders.
Anyway - that's just my opinion, your mileage may vary.
No such thing as too easy a question when you're new to this and your phone is on the line!![]()
I am up and running again! I did have to pull the battery, and remove my sd card, then turn it on, and it booted up finally. everything seems to be working. the only difference is when i go into messages the background is still white instead of black, but everything else is normal. weird.
When you install this rom all of your apps and all your other data will be gone. Its as if your replacing the phone all over again although the market will realize which apps you already paid for, your phone number that kind of thing. Set CPU you cannot use because this rom is not overclockable. Juice Defender you can use of you like, the battery life is pretty much what it was before.
do you have to do the whole partition sd card?? can i just flash the rom, without doing the whole apps to sd? i think thats where i messed up....
I know about that. I mean: do we actually need them? the apps like z4root, setcpu...?
I installed SetCPU on icarus. works fine.
You dont need z4 or system apps you backed up with titbu (assuming you backed up system apps) after installing icarus.
This doesnt mean to delete the system apps you see installed after you flash to icarus, just that you dont need the old ones. Yes, this is an answer i gave to a stupid question I got pmed to me.
Icarus1.1 is already rooted.
Read the thread about set cpu to get more info than I care to type on my phone.
According to issac, you can't overclock without an o/c kernal, which we don't have. (which I kinda knew) But huawei already has it o/c'ed to 600 (which is why I was confused because I kept reading it was 528). So yeah, all this time we've all thought we were overclocked, no, we were still stock. LOL! So, no you don't need the widget unless you want to underclock to save battery. Does anybody else feel as dumb as I do? Lol!I'd heard Icarus is already overclocked. I am not completely sure though. Wonder if I even need my widget.
Force running at 600 helps (or seems to) live wallpapers run better and screen swiping smoother.
Kills battery though.
