Root [How-to] Overclock that survives a reboot

was there a stock setscaling.sh file?
Or if I delete this one would the default kernel be there?

Im thinking of removing:
/system/lib/modules/overclock.ko
/system/bin/overclock.sh

What do you think?

Those are the files I was trying to tell you to remove originally
both of the overclock.sh and .ko files:p

OH I thought you told me to delete the version on the SDCard.
I just deleted them from the device via Root Explorer.
:)

Removing them form the device doesn't seem to have done any damage.
It actually seems to be running smoother now

How about this my rating is higher in Quadrant without OC then with over 300

That is not surprising. If you push too far (and clearly you did since you were having rebooting issues every minute), the device will actually run slower than stock. The trick is finding the overclock freq and voltage that makes the device run faster while maintaining stability.

But don't assume that any overclock attempts will end up with the same slowness that you experienced.

Hmmm thanks
I set it at 11.5 / 34.
Suggestions if I try this again?

So I'm a noob. I have my Droid X overclocked at 1.1 / 40 and is producing 1300 even for me. I'm happy with that after about a hundred different combination to get a good number. How do I edit/whatever so that I can lock that in. Someone mentioned editing the setscaling... I don't know how to do that. Just a little friendly help please.

Try doing the guide in the OP and let me know if/where you get stuck

Not really getting stuck... I'm already overclocked. He just scared the poop out of me with the last instruction. I don't know if his config is stable form me or not. I know mine is.

Ok... so now that I have my settings set. I just follow the guide and it will (lock) my overclock as it is, so when I reboot it won't reset?
