Root How To Restore Phone With DL Mode.

As a suggestion to the OP: maybe you should include a warning that the megalock.dll doesn't come included in the download and must be found by oneself. (I googled it and found a public file on Google Drive, and it worked fine!)
 
Got it working. Except in step 13, volume up wasnt working, so I tried volume down and holding volume down worked. *shrug*
 
So I successfully unbricked my phone. However, the carrier no longer says virgin mobile and my calls & texts have been receiving on/off really funky ever since.
 
Try doing a prl update and updating the profile. It will no longer say virgin mobile, no way to change that, that I know of.
 
Mine doesn't say Boost anymore either, but works fine. Update profile and PRL. It is possible that you will need to run through activation again.

Did this and the texting and calling works again.
The 3G seems to be on and off, but no 4G. Before I bricked I had 4G here.
 
Did you do a factory data reset after you flashed it? It's under backup and reset. If not then do that then do the prl update and the update profile.
 
Its funny i never did a factory reset after i restored and my 4G /spark is working fine. I did reactivate my phone after the restore process though.
 
Hey thanks for this guide. After a little while it worked for me. A few tweaks to the instructions that would have helped me include: 8 - I tried what you said and it just rebooted as soon as I plugged it in. I held volume up before I plugged it in and it worked perfectly. 10 & 11 - I installed drivers and when I finally got it to reset mode it was appearing as unknown portable device in device manager. Restarted windows, reloaded LG tool and plugged phone back in to start upgrade mode and bam, it appeared in device manager to set com port.

can someone please post a direct download link to the recovery firmware i looked in the place it says but there are 50 diffrent ones and when i click sprint there are like 3 diffrent ones i have boost mobile thank you
 
Just to confirm this works on the update that just came out. I basically downgraded back to V3 from V4. 4G LTE works as well. Everything works now I can root again :)

This is going to completely overwrite the contents of the phone. Updates are irrelevant.
