if the manufacture roots it and puts the recovery on. then you wouldn't have people bricking it. Stop standing up for the manufactures lol you aren't helping haha:p

don care they f up their phone that's on them. no replacements. here's how you deal with that. to be able to have root and recovery you have to sign that you use it at your own risk and the manufacture wont replace it.

anyways back on topic. thanks for helping us get root. it's to bad the motion recovery wouldn't work.
 
Got rid of those ads and that horrible Metro bloat. Since there's no recovery, should I hold off on theming, or would it be safe to make a backup of systemui, and framework and go ahead with it?

i was taking that with a locked bootloader we couldn't have recovery.... if we can than I may try it.

This is my first time having a phone at the beginning of root.. usually I don't buy till its all set up. So bootloaders and finding root, finding recovery is new for me.

I think you need to be De-Odexed to theme which can't be done without recovery.

youll need to pull them deodex, then remove the stock files and push the themed ones back. you should be fine didnt sammyz release a unbrick guide? has anyone tried it?

Ok, thats what i thought, i just use 7zip for all that. And no, haven't tried it but I promise I will if I brick!
 
Shabby, thanks for everything you do. I'm sure I can speak for many of us. Although I give Bliss cred for the root, it wouldn't have been possible without you. Ok so the Recovery they used on the Motion does work on the Spirit. Though it doesn't seem to be able to read the external sd card, only internal. Unless I just don't know how to get it to read the external one

By read the external sd do you mean switching from internal to external, if so, press the home button.

ha son of a gun. lol I got so use to touch recovery I forgot how to use the button controls.:p

So there is a recovery that works? I never had a Motion...
