Root How to uninstall useless Metro apps on Huawei Ascend?

Ive tried everything... Rom Manager, file expert, tibu, everything eithrr says cant find apk or telling me to unlock the nand..

On 2.2?
Use "root explorer" or equivalent to go to /cust on your phone, your bloat is there.

You MUST be rooted.
 
I am rooted... I downloaded Rootcheck and it verified I am rooted.
ive tried everything.. .... Always says it cant find apk files.
I dont have a creditcard so I cant get the rootexplorer, errrr

OK...try this (last test to confirm root) because I truly do not think you are-no offense BTW

This a free app from the market-click on link from your Ascend and install from market.

Once installed open Gemini app-pick an app(user) that you have installed on your phone..Angry Birds for instance..Long press on that app-select either Block "App" (root)- If you are root it will let you block it if not I suggest this :

I had actually tried to re-root one of my Ascends that my son was using. Neither Z4 root or Ginger-break would work. Had the phone bricked at one point stuck on the Huawei boot screen:rolleyes:

Ok downloaded Gemini... I picked an app, long press ed, blocked app, it reconfigured, asked for superuser permission, etc, then it said app blocked..

So, im rooted...
This is really frustrating..

I hear ya bud...I am at a loss:eek:...if it is really important to you to have all the bloatware gone my only suggestion would be to try another ROM as they are debloated + lean & mean.

Waiting on a call back from my son(he has the Ascend that I restored) to confirm the details of whats available within ROM Manager. Cant see it from my Esteem;)

Pretty sure there are options within that app for a free ROM for you.
 
In my ROM manager when you go to download the cwr its doesnt have the m860 as a choice.. Some, that stopped there's did you chose the Huawei m180 or whatever the only choice was .

Heard back from my boy(nada free ROMS through Rom Manager) thought there was.

Have you ever flashed a ROM before or:confused:

I just did the Ginerbreak yesterday and I have the same issue.... I am using Titanium Backup and everytime I try to uninstall any stock Metro Piece of Shvit app it cannot find apk files....


THe phone must be rooted....... Does anyone have a solution? I am so frustrated right now.... I am about to switch to T-Mobile!

Neither Z4 or gingerbreak show my Ascend as rooted...so B plan it was;) as ^^^

I would also appreciate any help in rooting my Huawei Ascend m860 2.2 z4root and gingerbreak just stays stuck on "acquiring root shell" superoneclick tells me "... system is not compatible"... I need to root before I update from 2.2 to 2.3 and then I'll root again (or I could just bypass that and update straight to 2.3 and then root. :confused: I'm just lost nothing works so far. Do you think you can help me too?
