Root How to uninstall useless Metro apps on Huawei Ascend?

You can't go wrong using ROOT EXPLORER Just Back up first the .apk and .odex you want to delete.
I bought this phone for my G/f rooted and deleted all the crapware the first minute I got back home.
(Easier to root than My Samsung Moment)
Boingo
Uno
Free Games
Loopt
Mocospace
Mobile Banking
Mobile IM
Virtual Card
Metro Back up. (useless) since your contacts are always backed since you use gmail.
I deleted Metro app store and easy wifi since Android has it's native wifi and haven't had any issues.

I deleted these as recommended in many posts and there are still lots of of other things that I don't know what they are listed - what do I do with those? Every one has a duplicate with a different extension.

I'd try out the app SD MAID & if you like it,go w/the PRO version.

If these duplicates are just extra copies of things you've downloaded,etc...(not part of the O/S itself)SD MAID will identify them as such and give you the option of deleting all the extra junk off your phone.

SD MAID will also find cache that other cache cleaners miss & help keep things uncluttered.

I used this app w/my ASCEND & along w/ROOT EXPLORER,it'll help keep things clean on your phone & SD CARD,which is absolutely necessary to keep the ASCEND running at its best.

Hi, I recently rooted my phone with 'Gingerbreak' from the link in post
#32. My MetroPCS Huawei Ascend rooted fine and titanium is working with it, but when I try to uninstall some system apps such as MetroBackUp I receive an error. It says "Cannot remove system app" "Failed to locate the apk file."

Any ideas why this is happening? USB debug is on and I'm running Froyo 2.2

hi, I m having this same apk message... What to do now..?

I have tried...
TiBu
Astro
Rom toolbox
File expert

Rom toolbox deletes them, but they pop back in the list..
I get the apk message when using TIBU...

Well, I assumed I was becaue I used Gingerbreak and it rebooted and now have Superuser, etc.
when I open Gingerbreak, the Unroot'' buttom is there. I even unrooted, then rerooted, it rebooted, etc.
How can I find out if im rooted or not..?
Ive tried:
File Expert, TiBu, SystemApp, ROM manager, ROM instller,
several.....

SytemApp is telling me to check my NAND settings when I try and delete bloatware...
Driving me crazy..

I had actually tried to re-root one of my Ascends that my son was using. Neither Z4 root or Ginger-break would work. Had the phone bricked at one point stuck on the Huawei boot screen:rolleyes:
So I followed Tokenpoke's handy sticky. The following are the threads I used:
