Root How to unlock?

I read all the guides, watched the vids.......my device simply won't unlock...unless..........is waiting 30 minutes required? I read somewhere it's not required....I'm so confused. You flash firmware and then what? Do you HAVE to flash the radio fix file? Does it require a working internet connection???? Why is it not bringing me to a confirmation screen after running adb reboot oem-unlock ???
 
Update: waited 30 minutes without cell signal, but also did adb reboot oem-unlock before 30 minutes, still can't get confirmation screen O.o

I waited about an hour before I ran it. I know for a fact that it works on the metropcs L9. I have it and unlocked the bootloader.

I'm gonna have to logcat for an entire 30 minutes then I guess. Then run the unlock command see if it works or not. If not I'll flash back and forth, flash radio, logcat again.
 
I miss my Spirit but, the L9 is cool also. Not as snappy but, you can unlock the bootloader. Rooting is childsplay once you unlock it..

Yea..I see lag everywhere....
On the bright side, I get signal everywhere now :D
Tmobile definitely has better network coverage. I didn't get signal at all at college, now I get it everywhere :D

My sister-in-law has one. It's the T-Mo version that she had gotten unlocked and is using it on Simple Mobile. Unfortunately, since my wife and I just got the Motions a few months ago, I won't be able to convince the CFO (my wife) to let me get a new phone just yet. :)
 
There's a difference between unlocked bootLoader and unlocked carrier..we're talking about the bootloader :p

Oh, I know. I was just mentioning that she was able to get hers carrier unlocked (before the law went into effect a few months ago) and is using it on Simple Mobile rather than Metro or T-Mobile ('course Simple is using T-Mobile's network).
 
I could remove the kernel from Bob's 10.2 and flash that. Kinda like what we had to do on the motion when I fixed 1080p recording.. Plus I need to flash crossbreeder to increase my dns connection..

Won't work. Needs 2nd-init built into the ROM.
