How's the battery life?

I don't know if this will help but I read somewhere that "if"our note 2's are not off after the battery has just been fully charged we will notice fast depletion from 100-90 cause it apparently does not fully charge with the phone on. Leave the phone off when charging and for about an hour of green led time and we should get good 100-90 time. Or get the external charger for the battery and swap them out when it's time.

Haven't had this issue. I think too many people are confusing older tech with new.

You posted that you dimmed the screen way down in the past, but aren't really speaking up about that.

Not sure what you think I'm hiding. My brightness being low is not a deep dark forum secret so there's no need to "speak up about that" in each post. It's been low on every phone and every tablet for years.

Visually my eyes find comfort with brightness being all the way down. It's NOT to stretch my battery; it's so I can see. I am legally blind.

Have a great day.....

Scandalex has posted many times about how low she has the brightness on her phone. Can't really call something a secret if it's posted many times.

Since people called me out for not using my phone ( ;) ), I ran the phone in clock bedside mode last night. Used a fully charged Anker battery. I did the trick where you go into the settings on the clock itself and set it to auto-brightness, which makes it a little darker than the darkest setting on the slider (although it was still plenty bright in my room). Left it on wifi all night. Here are the results:

it seems its true by the way, last time i charged my GN2 i left it on charge the whole night and it was off and here what i get out of that, impressive battery life with mild use and bluetooth was always on just switch it off before the screen capture as the bluetooth headset was on the charge

while now just finished charging my phone 3 hours back and it was on and i just took it off the charger when showed fully charged, and now its at 85% in just 3 hours
so i think its true by the way and will do next charge while off and the whole night and will see again

Usually batterystats for the OS need 3 full charges and if you don't go down a lot, it could be misreporting the charge in that 10% range.

I believe that most of you have more than 3 full charges, so it's most likely a calibration issue, unless you see a drain like that in other ranges. Let's hope Samsung, a Korean based company, can get an update out if this is true!

I've never fallen for the 3 whole charges thing. Haven't had a phone yet that's suffered any battery issues due to what I feel is old fashioned thinking.

Actually, it's how the android OS works. Read any new phone/ new rom, and it's a covenant. Again, don't think it's that based on everyone's input.

Screen on times look very good IMHO. Almost making me switch to this phone :D:D

Not trying to argue your point but there are many "covenants" that are said by one person and take off like it's law by everyone who reads.

My 1st Android I did the battery conditioning and my battery performed the same amount of time had I not done it which is when I stopped buying into that. This is my 6th Android phone and I've been using them all the same way since.

It's not battery conditioning, it's the OS and how it collects stats and reports the battery. I think you missed that.

I can see how you confused that easily.

Sent using the SGN2

Just wanted to chime in again. :)

I've had the phone I guess nearly 2 weeks now - got on on launch day for VZW.

Not once have I had it come near a charger outside of when I go to bed at night. And I use the heck out of this phone. I sit there and play a game or draw for 2 hours straight with brightness at 90%, sometimes twice a day. Netflix. Etc.

(and the phone doesn't even get warm, my GNex would get downright HOT!)

I've had to work to get it down to under 20% by the time I go to bed. I've never had an experience like this with a smartphone - I've always had to plug them in at work or in the car, or both.

I do have stuff going on a lot so I don't just sit there on my phone all the time, so.. you know, keep that in mind. But for me this is great. I get at least 6 hours screen time with brightness at 90%. Have even hit (well, was on par for by the time I crashed) 7.5.

To me, this is just crazy.

I can't imagine what the extended batteries would be like! Fortunately it appears I'm not the type that needs one, so rock on. :)

x2!!! I'm still used to the inevitable ear burn i'd get when making lengthy phone calls that my GNex would give me. Just one more reason why I don't regret getting the Note2!

I purchased the Hyperion 6200mAh extended battery and the first day off the charger I got 2 days 1 hour with 6 hours screen time. Could probably have more but I accidentally left pandora streaming for 4 hours . I kept brightness at 100% and left off power saving mode. I plan on keeping the extended for trips and times where a charger is not handy.

Thanks again everyone, first full day here.

I can kill a razr hd in under 3 hours of screen time ~2500 mAh battery, usually dead after lunch.

I'm on track for over 5 hours of screen on time, and I've been doing more stuff like some ingress, gps, etc. I usually get about 1/2 the signal strength at work for VZW LTE, too.

There is a bug in the razr and razr hd models that we tested on a few phones. If you let their screen get bright from walking under a bright light, or whatever, you CAN NOT get the screen dim again. Huge fail moto.

I can cover the sensor and in a few seconds the note 2 adjusts perfectly. I'm using auto settings on the note 2 where at my desk the razr hd would be very bright.

Loving the battery life here so far!!!

That screen brightness thing has to be from all Motorola phones (not just the Razr line). I experienced a similar thing with the Photon also, except I found the solution, by just making sure I turn the phone on and off when going back indoors. And that was just through auto brightness mode.

I really do like how Samsung's sensor adjusts better, however, I found that Motorola was much easier to see in sunlight. That said, the HD screen on the Note 2 is so amazingly clear that I found out I can stay on the lowest brightness indoors and never have a problem seeing my phone. It's only when I go outside (on sunny days), that I'll turn auto on.
