How's the battery life?

That screen brightness thing has to be from all Motorola phones (not just the Razr line). I experienced a similar thing with the Photon also, except I found the solution, by just making sure I turn the phone on and off when going back indoors. And that was just through auto brightness mode.

+1 That screen off and back on is what I have to do

I really do like how Samsung's sensor adjusts better, however, I found that Motorola was much easier to see in sunlight. That said, the HD screen on the Note 2 is so amazingly clear that I found out I can stay on the lowest brightness indoors and never have a problem seeing my phone. It's only when I go outside (on sunny days), that I'll turn auto on.

Huge flaw in the moto lineup imho... with the HD, the screen was constantly in superbright mode, and would never go out of it. Again, HUGE FLAW MOTO!

Samsung has it right here!

Just hit the warning at 15% on my first full day. I've abused this phone with not just screen on time, but low LTE signal and a ton of gps!

I'm going to let it run for a while, in my experience android needs a few full drains to collect batterystats, so 15% might really be 20%, but who knows. I'm VERY satisfied with the performance and the battery results on this phone!!!!

My battery results for all day sunday into monday morning; took the phone off the charger early sunday morn. Its great knowing I don't have to carry a charger around. As always, gps off, wifi off except when needed in the case of both. Power saving mode with cpu and hapitc feedback boxes checked off. Brightness is always set to below 50%, I go up and down with it as needed.

Click the gray shaded area where it says 11 hrs and post that pic.

still got more left, had some gmail and pic taking and sending. VERY pleased so far! This phone performs. I did have a 10 min or so commute leaving lunch back to work, put it on a slow car usb charger looking for the "keep screen on when charging settings", but they don't exist!

Loving the battery life on this phone! :D:D

I'm not sure whether it was activating power saving mode or whether having gone through a few charge cycles improved the battery, but the battery life on my phone is much better now. I still haven't made it to 6 hours screen time, but it's easily the best battery I've had in a phone. Very impressed. Thanks to all for your help! I'll post back when I equal other people's screen time records :p

Battery life is very good! Android usually needs a few charges/discharges to report proper percentages... however my first full charge/drain, it was rather spot on.

I suspect it's because I was on wifi after work and at home, I'm on track for 5 hours of screen on time without wifi and abusing the phone! VZW LTE will use more power!

It does seem like the first 10-15% goes faster than normal, too!

Good that your battery life improved. Noticed you mentioned something about it possibly activating power saving mode, but are you saying that power saving mode actually drains the battery?

FYI, I'm running mine with the windmill live wallpaper and power saving mode is NOT on.

I also have the screen set to dynamic.

Will I get much better battery life if I set these? If so, is there any lag in these modes with apps? I'm not interested in performance of swiping home screens left and right!

I used power saver mode once. This battery is so good I didn't need power saver enabled and now with 3 batteries I'm like the energizer bunny. :p

I'm stuck with one battery, could use that mode at work, but I have a 2.0A charger there already and verified with elixr that it it's up to par with the stock charger!

Samsung site says that everything is backordered with no additional info, I did get the 50% off email after registering... might be a new topic but on the side... so disappointed in backorder and docks and nav mounts, I bought the cheap VZW one today to get me through for now, and it's not that bad.

I keep the "limit cpu" boxed checked off in power saving mode simply because I don't notice any difference with it on or off. Not sure if this is a complement or not:D This phone is fast either way.

You would have to be hypermiling for this feature, lol! I might check it out some day, could be good for a setting when in the sticks.

I meant that activating power saving mode seemed to drastically increase the battery life. I previously had it switched off. I just wasn't sure if this was the only reason the battery life became better - I thought it might also have been because I'd completed a few charge cycles by that stage.

I see. I was wondering how that's possible. It could be a combination of both.

Well from reading your statements of your battery life statistics... Mine SUCKS big time. Used to be 16 hours after a week of buying it then I did a hard reset hoping it would get over a day. But no, It got worse... It became 8 hours only.. D:

-Samsung Galaxy Note II (International 16gb Version)

The last 3 charges have lasted about 30 to 35 hours...each. I have juice defender ultimate installed so it disables radio and/or Wi-Fi when I'm not using it, so I'm sure that helps. This is with moderate use...4 to 5hours of browsing, couple of hours of gaming, and a movie or a lot of YouTube watching.....i also listen to alot of audiobooks....several hours worth per day...all on a single charge.

Yea. The battery rocks. I don't understand why they would even make an extended battery for this.

Mine lasts for around 15 hours or so. But I don't use any battery saving app

Try juice defender ultimate and find the best settings for how you use the phone. I have mine set to turn off wifi and mobile data when not using...syncing every 30 minutes to check stuff. It literally goes down 2-3% during bed time hours...so I'm sure that alone helps a ton. I used to have a maxx and the longest i got was 15 hours...so i know this phone is no joke.

Also try waiting until your less than 5%, turn the phone off, and charge until your at 100. If that doesn't help much try a factory reset then do the above. But it's not like 15 hours is bad anyway.

Thanks. I'll give that a spin:D

BTW,i got mine yesterday and the guy at Verizon told me I should charge the phone, only if it is off because it will be better for the battery if it is charging only if the phone is off.. it is true?
