HTC DROID Eris OS 2.1v3 download

To get to battery history, open the phone and dial *#*#4636#*#*...
Nothing running 100% or even close. "Running" is the highest and it's at 23%.

In order, "Android System" is the highest and it's using very little. Not listed as a percentage though... Next is "Internet". After that, it's "Handcent SMS" which shows up as a thin line. The rest have no usage to speak of.

No one knows (for sure).

In theory, the "final" release should have a higher s/w number than the 3rd leak and should update since the installed version is older. Worst case, you download the "final" version from VZW/PCD and install it like you installed the leak.

Trying to go from OS 2.1 v1 to OS 2.1 v3. Has anyone tried installing v3 and have the software version still show as 2.26.605.2? Do you have to install v2 first?

I have tried installing the correct PB00IMG file 3 times (wiped the SD Card, Copied PB00IMG to the SD Card, pressed the correct buttons to power up), however, the version is not updated. I had no issues going from OS 1.5 to OS 2.1.

I suspect you've got something keeping your phone awake 100%.
Again today, with no literally NO USAGE, it's 5pm and I had the "15% remaining" warning on-screen. Looking at the "4636" menus, like before, nothing out of the ordinary. Just to be clear, this behavior immediately started after installing v3.

i asked verizon this two months ago and they told me the same exact thing they told you. it means nothing.

Just wanted to report my findings with this version.

I've had it over a week now. I do a lot with my phone for work, exchange connector, twinning, taking calls, etc.

I've had a 2 instances where a call was unanswerable. (wouldn't allow me to pick up)
i've had 1 freeze where the phone had have the battery removed before i could turn it back on.
some apps like my verizon fios dvr manager are not appearing in the market.
my battery needs charged every day, instead of my normal every 2 days

These may seem like big problems for the average person. but i think the extra functionality outweigh's the negatives listed above. everything else works like a dream. and i was messing around with my phone a lot more testing things trying to get the phone to screw up, so i believe if i just use it like i normally use it, these problems will disappear. hope this helps someone.

Has anyone had any issues with the actual phone app? Sometimes, people call me and I can't hear them but they can hear me. I have to reboot the phone. I fear it is a hardware issue... I just want to see if anyone else is having this issue. It never happened on 1.5
I had this issue after installing v2. I couldn't hear anything at all for every call! The only thing that fixed it was a factory reset. Ever since then, and after installing v3 when it first came out, I have not had a recurrence (knock on wood!).

Hello, I installed v2.1v3. Here is what i noticed so far.
Battery lasted less time till a factory erase all. Then much better.
When in dialpad mode, and a name is selected, rolling the ball to the rights doesnt indicate home or home2. it only says "h" for both.
after hanging up from a call, always asks for device pin even if you have it set for 20 mins and the call is shorter. When selecting name in dialpad and then selecting the card on the right, it allows you to send a txt msg to a landline like home or work number.
Other then that good so far.

Did anyone see the notice yesterday that the official OTA could be starting today? Did anyone receive a notice yet? Do you think it was a hoax?

Nope.

I actually got the word from a verizon salesman when I went to buy the same case that w4lly had. He told me that he got an email saying that the update was coming out today.

I came home last night to see it posted all over the forums. I thought I had the insider tip for a short minute.

i have only had a few issues so far. the battery issue being one. took it to the verizon store and they replaced my battery with no questions asked. we'll see if that works. 2nd issue is my contacts crash when i try and open them. not all. they don't link to facebook, and the ones that have photos crash when i open them. again, not all of them, but most of them. the guy at the verizon store was clueless, but he did look up the info about the release date and he said it should be within the next couple days. though we've heard that one before....

just want the final official update so stuff will work again!

oh, and when i miss a call, then eventually turn my phone off, when i turn it back on, the missed call shows up again like i never cleared the notification.

Was just going to let everyone know this, even though I doubt many will keep updating to leaks with the OTA right around the corner, but when I did the leak, I didn't delete anything at all off the SD and it didn't erase anything. The only things I had to replace were those on the internal memory (ie. contacts, apps...etc), music and pictures all stayed intact.
