I tried rooting a HTc Evo 4G sprint phone I bought. Somehow one of the roms I screwed up my phone with. My phone has recovery flashed on it. However it won't mount storage or SD card. No matter what I try. I can't fastboot flash anything, but recovery. The recovery says unable to mount storage and unable to mount SD card. Shows 0 MB storage too.

Anyhoo, what recovery do you have?
Edit: oh, when your phone is booted up, does your phone see the sd card? Or does it not boot up?

You mention, "Always get remote not allowed error on anything else."....does that include the AmonRa recovery?
I tried the Sprint RUU.exe it works until I choose the new update. Then my fastboot freezes up. Next the Ruu shows a page saying error in connection. Check USB cable, etc. I noticed fastboot on bootloader freezes up everytime I try it and other things. End up pulling battery and getting to bootloader again.

What size sd card do you have? and what class of card?

would also help to know what is your hboot. it is found in the bootloader at the top of the screen.
and using a ruu is your last resort. once you get a recovery, try and flash a custom rom.

Toshiba 8 GB Micro SD card. No longer works. PC won't recognize it either. Hboot is 2.18 The RUU_SuperSonic_GB_Sprint_WWE_4.24.651.1_Radio_2.15.00.05.02_NV_2.15_release_199233_signed is one I tried after relocking bootloader. My phone freezes up on fastboot after I choose the update 4.13 on Ruu process screen. Tried loading a rom and got the same remote not allowed message, etc..
that is becuase your bootloader is locked.....you must unlock it first to get recovery and flash a rom.

ok so a couple of things:
.........before all of this happened, were you s-off and unlocked? or did you only unlock your bootloader?
your radio suggests that you have have the 5.07 OTA firmware which older ruu's will not work.

hmmmmmm recovery must not have stuck.....try running the PC36IMG file for amon ra again.
