Didn't change much... I never had root access to lose in the first place. I wish I had waited though just in case.

Once you are rooted, is there a way to empirically determine that you are actually getting 4G throughput and usage from your device? I upgraded my root to 2.2 Unrevoked a few months ago but did not need to tether. For the past couple of days I needed to tether, and I see the 4G icon on at the top, but also the signal strength bars on the right of the 4G icon. I get the distinct impression that while the 4G radios are ON, my interface to them is not active and that I am actually hitting the net from the 3G section of the device. I am close to a Clearwire site, but am getting speed tests of 1.5 Mbps. I used to get 5-7 Mbps.
I am on an EVO 4G purchased at first roll-out. Using Supersonic root from a few months ago.

They gotta be close no? I just really wanna do wifi hotspot with my phone for me it will come in handy soooo much. also remove all this bloatware, its a good phone and its to slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. thx again everyone

Kernel source means custom sense gingerbread kernels. To date all we have is HTC stock kernel.
dont anyone hold their breath, this is just an announcement and is there no where indicated that any kind of root will be released today
Do you tell kids the Tooth Fairy doesn't really exist, too?

Seems like every phone EXCEPT Evo 4G got root today.

I cant get my damn computer to find the serial number of my phone. It doesnt recognize the cd \rootevo4ggingerbread
what does revolutionary say? you can just try and enter it manually to get the beta key.

What version of android are you currently running?
Also we need to know what hboot is on your phone.
Do this for me please, if you will,
1. pull your battery, and wait 10 seconds, put back in
2. Hold the volume down button and then hold the power button both simultaneously until a white screen appears with andy riding a skateboard. This screen is called the bootloader, or hboot.
Could you please type everything that is shown on this screen.
Once we know your hboot version we can get your root going.
Hey Granite1... i followed your instructions on taking out the battery and starting up the HBOOT screen. i wrote down all my info that showed up. i would really appreciate if you can check it out for me and tell me if i can root now or if i have to wait also.Welcome to the forums!!!!

ok im pretty new to all of this... i looked for hours to try to find a way to root my evo and came across a bunch of different methods but one thing i noticed was alot of them are for gingerbread... what is gingerbread and how do i know if i have it already? someone please help!!! thanks.
