1st the phone wasnt doing anything at all. so i followed the hold volume and etc. to get to the light showing its charged. Once i saw it was charged i tried cutting it on and it vibrated thats it nothing came on at all

try going into the bootloader. press and hold power+vol down. you are rooted though, correct?

i tried volume down n power n the power light went away again. i dont know if rooted is considered to be flashed but the phone is flashed to metro pcs. Can it be i need a new battery?

So, I did a very bad thing tonight...
I have been rooted for almost 2 years now and have flashed many, many roms in my Evo's life.

Tonight I wiped everything on my phone, flashed AmonRA, dropped the most current stock rom I could find (4.67.651) on the SD card and loaded the zip file from my SD card.
Once it was installed, before booting, I installed the most current radio zip I could find (CM-EVO_Radio-2.15.00.12.19_PRI-2.33_WiMax_NV). Once done, I rebooted from the menu.

It rebooted and got stuck on a black background screen with a picture of an evo and a 2 green arrows in the shape of a circle above it.

Without thinking, I pulled the battery.

My Evo wont boot or anything. It is just a nice paperweight at this point.
I had a full charged battery before I started the update ROM process.
I tried pulling the SD and Battery out and then plugging it into my computer with the USB. Then after being plugged in, I held down the volume+and- at the same time while putting the battery back in.
I held it for a good 3-4 mins with not a sign of life...

Is there anything to save this phone?

well i hate to be the bearer of bad news, but i pretty sure that you just bricked your phone. you have to be very careful when flashing radios. pulling the battery out while it was in the process of installing will brick your phone. not much you can do really. hopefully you have insurance.

my phone kept restarting yesterday while i was out and ended up turning off. it does not charge or turn on. ive tried everything above. do i need a new battery?

no lights turn on or anything. computer doesnt detect it at all, ive used many different chargers

Greetings and welcome!
I know this is a long thread and if you've tried alot of the things listed here, and multiple chargers do not work and you cannot turn on phone at all, batteries are cheap these days and it might be a solution for you.
Unless you know someone who has the same phone/battery as you, try their battery in your phone.:D

I thought that would be the case.
Thankfully, I just got a new phone, I was just trying to update this one so I could sell it and recoup some of the money I spent on my Galaxy S3 back... but looks like its just going to be a kid's toy now.

Fun...

sorry man. i guess you live and learn. messing with radios and bootloaders can brick any phone. so be careful going forward.

The HTC Flyer has a concealed or in built battery which cannot be removed. How can i do this or unbrick it ? Mine doesnt turn on at all, when i wall charge it, the power button blinks.. thats all.

Please help me, i'm way far in Ghana where there are no repair shops for such devices and my flyer is new i cant dispose it.

welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!!!!!!especially one so far away in Africa.
sorry to here that you are having issues with your tablet. you will probably get better responses in the HTC Flyer - Android Forums as this is the HTC Evo 4g rooting section.

so tried getting s-off and messed up.. phone wont boot, no light, nothing..not detectable by pc either..im on hoot 1.57..would this process work?

i have the htc evo v 4g..i thought i could ask here for help too

well they are two different phones with different methods of getting s-off, so i would stick with the other thread that you have going for your phone......let me take a look at the thread over in the other forum and see what i can do to help you.

so lets use that thread.......cool?

My phone is completely bricked (Atleast I think it is.) I can't get it to be recognized by a computer, nor will it show ANY signs of life, i've tried basically everything in this thread, but nothing has worked. The only thing I haven't tried, which im in the middle of trying to find a battery for it, Is to try a different battery.

How it bricked?: I was listening to music, got in my car, and the music died. I thought it was just service loss or whatever, so I took my phone out of my pocket, and it wouldn't turn on. I thought it had just died. So I took it home, plugged it in.. And nothing. I've tried both PC charging and wall charging. I haven't tried to freeze the battery, as I'm sitting in school right now, and dont exactly have access to a freezer. So I'm going to try that when I get home, and hopefully that'll work.

Thats my issue, if there is any known fix, that I'm missing.. I don't really want to send it in to get Jtagged. it was NOT rooted, It was basically factory from Virgin Mobile, with Pandora, and a couple other apps installed. I have insurance on it, but apparently if it bricks, that's not covered as a "Device Malfunction" So I have no hope of getting a new phone in insurance.

Edit: I think I'm on the latest android OS. I had tried to update it a couple days ago, and it said it was the latest. Hope this helps a bit, atleast.
Thanks in advance!

Well it could be, as I am not familiar with the Virgin Mobile devices.
With that being said, I would doubt it is your battery but I have heard of folks that had this issue and when they brought their device back to the store, they "jump start" (for lack of a better term), the battery.

Perhaps just a visit back to the store to have them do their magic or a battery replacement is in order. It should be under warranty and I wouldn't worry about it NOT being under warranty. :) Are you rooted?

Nah, its not rooted. And thats the problem, they dont have a store. And The customer service is horrible, haha. Waiting on an email back to see if they can do anything.
