HTC EVO out of stock...

all,
please we dont need to have everyone posting they are getting an EPIC or "i cant find an evo..." threads. while one can certainly understand frustrations that are occurring out there with regards to sourcing an EVO, one does not need to post in the forum that they are giving up or are looking elsewhere for another handset. those posts do not help others in finding a device and it clutters up the forum.

kindly resist the urge to post such things...

where do you guys live that there are no EVOs? my local walmart has 5 just sitting in the case. is it really that hard? call them up, lexington va walmart, 5404643535

I am in San Jose CA (Bay Area) Its really hard to find an EVO. The funnest I have noticed is other people have an EVO. I will attempt to strike up a conversation and they are just like well its nice but I wish it was smaller or easier to use. I was at the Sprint Store on Steven's Creek Blvd about a month after launch because my roommates hero is acting up. While we watied I saw two older gentlemen come in with EVOs and complaint that they cannot figure out how to get anything to work. I personally think there are to many people that have EVOs and don't have a clue on how to use them IMAO.

I just ordered mine from a Sprint Business sales person that I got the contact info from another forum. He says to tell everyone who is currently looking for one to give him a call. Can I post his info here or is there a forum rule against it?

He says ones he's ordering are taking roughly 1 week to process and ship.

A co-worker called up Sprint retention because he was up for renewal and got an Evo. They tried to switch him to an Epic, but he just kept on with the Evo and said if they wanted to keep him then give him an Evo. He also called them on giving Evo's to new customers but not existing. I may give it a try this afternoon.

Try calling this person. He works for Sprint Business Accounts and can get you a phone within a week usually.

If this is against forum rules I apologize in advance. He is perfectly okay with me posting his info as he wants to help anyone who wants to order an Evo get it done. He can check upgrade eligibility and can also charge the price of the phone to your account.

I'm just trying to help those who are looking for Evos.

uh what the...
my post got deleted and it was very informative. hmmm.

well w/e. don't be against the Epic 4G because you're afraid of lag. it's not set up like the Vibrant or Captivate and therefore doesn't have any of those lag issues. it's smooth as butter.

I was originally with t-mobile and was sick of throwing my money away with them. I had the "flex-pay" and paid monthly in advance. After looking around I decided to go with the EVO from sprint but had a really hard time finding anywhere that had them in stock. I just happend to go to the HTC website and saw that they were in stock. My bill cycle was ending the 8th this month so I said screw it and ordered the phone from them. Of course when I got the conformation, it said backordered and has said so for the past 20 days. Rather than pay an extra month with t-mobile or go w/out a phone until my EVO shipped, I went into sprint and got the cheapest, most basic phone they had to tie me over..... after waiting more than 2 weeks, I'm wondering if I'm EVER going to get the damn thing....

I'll state this again - try your local Sams Club. You don't need a membership to buy the phone as it's run by Radio Shack. You pay at the kiosk not at a Sams checkout. I got mine after a one day wait last week (albeit I got lucky - I expected a much longer wait but those on the wait list before me did not respond to phone calls). They gave me $89 for my Moment, gave the rebate so I walked out the door with an Evo for around $120-ish.

Also since they are Radio Shack they get shipments on Fridays. Good luck. I hope those waiting get one. FWIW it's such a huge improvement over my Samsung Moment I can't believe I put up with that pos for as long as I did.

My local sprint store gets then all the time. They have three now. I notice they get them more often than best buy. Too bad I'm not looking for one. I went to see if they had the epic demo.

I had flex pay too and I hated it my bill would be like $100a month and only 300 min what I found is that with my favs it never worked out for me because everyone always called on a cell phone so sprint worked out best and I just use tmobile for data.

I forgot to update, I finally got mine last Thursday from Radio Shack. I was also disappointed to learn that the first Sprint Store I was on a waiting list with has been selling Evo to new customers and telling upgrades no Evo.

I ended up starting a second line for my wife and had the Sprint Store port her number over (couldn't do it at Radio Shack because she wasn't with me), and at the Sprint Store they were acting like they couldn't believe I would stoop to buying at Radio Shack instead of them. After telling them I know they were selling to new customers, they didn't have much to say.

The Radio shack that my girlfriend works at is getting them in Bi-weekly it seems. Maybe they're starting to catch up on their demand for them. Luckily I was standing there this week when she got 3 in. xD

Sprint's facebook still reports they will be available online this week.

good luck to all looking for one!

I got mine yesterday finally.... I went into one Radio Shack and was they had none.... The sales lady called another store and was told they had two in stock, So I went directly to that store and got the last one. Now I just need to figure it out. Switched from Blackberry
