Root htc evo stock kernel?

OK, Make sure the file on your SD card says EXACTLY PC36IMG.zip, not .zip.zip Windows by default hides file extensions, so name the file on your PC to PC36IMG, then transfer to your SD card.
Then power down your phone, wait 10 seconds.
Hold the volume down and power until the white screen appears. Just leave it alone for now...wait. Your Hboot will scan for the file. Once it finds it, choose the appropriate function and press power.
Do not pull your battery, let it finish. It may take a while.

Post what happpens.

Nothing happened. And it was named like pc36img sprint bla bla so I erased that and jjust put pc36img.zip and it didn't do anything on its own.

I don't know what you mmean by trying hboot but yes it does try to load something it says no img found from what I could catch

ok so this is the file for your hboot: MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service
just delete everything in the title except for PC36IMG. do not add a ".zip" as windows hides extensions. and it has to be on the root (no folders) of the sdcard.

hboot automatically scans for it the file and it will not see it if:
1. not named correctly
2.not on the root of the card
3. or the file is for the wrong hboot.

Yeah I got it plugged into the 360 but I downloaded it anything special I need to know. Like do i have to move it or anything?
