Root HTC Evo White Screen Loop - Recovery not working.

Hi Guys!,

I'm pretty new at this and now I have an issue with my phone. (HTC EVO 4g)

I root my phone using Revolutionary, then I download the CM7 Rom.

Yesterday, when I was running an app the phone just freeze, it was not doing anything, so I have to pull out the battery. After doing that, I try to start the phone again, and it stops on the HTC EVO 4g white screen and keeps looping forever.

So i try the following things:

- I try to go to the HBOOT to do the recovery, but when I select the option recovery it takes me again to the white screen loop.
-I download a different recovery to the SD card, install it, and try to go to recovery again, but the same issue happened. This is the recovery that I download : PC36IMG_RA_2.3.zip

I'm not sure what else should I do. Or how can I get to the recovery...

This is how my Hboot looks

-Revoliutionary-
SUPERSONIC EVT2-3 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.16.1002
TOUCH PANEL-FAIL
RADIO-2.15.00.0808.

Any ideas? Your help will be really appreciated!

well the white screen is called the splash screen. so when you select recovery now you just get the white screen? how long do you wait?

Yes, when I select the recovery option I just get the splash screen, I wait more than 5 minutes, then it reboots automatically to to the splash screen.

Touch Panel-Fail? Thats strange.

Try reinstalling your recovery, but im not sure if thats going to work because of the whole touch panel fail thing

I seen another guy that had this problem recently, his nv partition needed rewriting
what app were you using? perhaps it tried to write to the nv items?

The app that I open was the Car Dock that comes with the CM7 Rom. :S

the worst thing, is that I never use that app I opened by mistake...

you can try these:

also maybe try running a ruu and see if that helps:

try the 4.53 PC36IMG ruu and see if that works.

just rename the file to PC36IMG and put it on the sd card. then pull the battery or reboot the phone into hboot.

So this is what I have done, I got another recovery, that one did work, I restore my nandroid, and it worked, but I think is something wrong with the display and the phone.

It doesn't loop now, but it takes like 10 minutes on the splash screen then the system starts, really really slow, then when I'm on the main screen, the touch screen doesn't work at all... and after a while it restarts again...

I think there is maybe something wrong with the hardware...

Do you think this can be caused by the ROM? or the app?

try wiping dalvik cache and cache and see if that helps.

You said you got a different recovery, but not which recovery... Did you get amon ra on there, or clockwork again?

Maybe run one of the cleaner scripts, and re-flash, but the touch-panel fail thing prolly isnt good...

what rom did you try? what did you wipe before flashing the rom? and when you say i did not work, what do you mean? same thing? and like team420 asked, did you get amon ra installed successfully?

can you please manually step by step show how to install this software? when i get the file it just creates something that windows asks me "what to i open it with" how do i physically get the file onto the phone? i get the plash screen that is a continuous loop and will not boot up. please help.

welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!!!!
what is your hboot? do you have s-off or s-on? can you get to recovery? what recovery do you have? what did you do to get to this state?

remember the more details you give us the better we can help.
