HTC Gingerbread update.

I did it using the leaked 2.3.3 ROM over on XDA because I didn't want to wait any longer while HTC were ducking about.
Most other people that debranded and waited had no problem with the OTA update and HTC said it should update fine too.

Thanks, it's just that I have been trying ten times a day for over a week now and I am still seeing 'Your phone is up to date'

Which is why I thought it was something to do with my IMEI and TMobile...

I have rebooted many times, I have tried with sim out, sd card out and no joy. I have tried nearly every combination I could think of, which is why I was asking if anyone with a debranded phone had received the OTE...

Then I suggest (if you're desperate for the update) you use the ROM from XDA

Otherwise just wait a little longer and you'll get it :) I had to wait ages for my 1.72 update... It just never really came until the day before it was pulled
 
I decided to check my software updates on the whim I got the Android 2.3 100.9 MB update :D

Anyone has any checklists to convey to me before I update my phone? Its too bad it cant remember my wifi password, it means that I have to ask my room mate againnn....
 
Im branded on the 3 network (UK) any idea of when I'll be able to get the update?
Ive seen 2.3 run on a HTC sensation, and it looks very nice so Im eager to get the update myself.

You won't get the same sense on that. You will get the same sense running on the Desire S

Yeah, the Desire HD running android 2.2 had sense 2.0, the 2.3 update brings sense 2.1, but the HTC Sensation is running sense 3.0.
 
Just had my phone back from insurers. it was given to them as a broken unbranded dhd on vodafone from phones 4 u. they have said they couldnt fix it and have therefore sent me a replacement dhd. i therefore don't know whether they have sent me a branded or u unbranded handset but when i tried going to settings to update it and it says its up to date...im still using the original vodafone sim card. any idea where this update is?

thanks for the reply but all sorted. should have kept reading threads before posting that...it needed a reboot, now its fiinding the update. time to see what all the fuss is about. hope its been worth the wait!
 
I am getting the OS system update option from 2.2 to 2.3 now. But before doing it, I want to know is it worth updating from 2.2 to 2.3 on DHD ??... I have heard rumors that 2.2 is better than 2.3 on DHD. How true is this ??
 
if after updating to 2.3 gingerbread, I want to downgrade it back to 2.2 froyo can I do that ?.. and how ?
 
Anyone know when 2.3.3 is supposed to be up on Telus in Canada? I recently read that it will be there "this summer" but that's not exactly a date... They have been pushing it back all the time since they first announced it.
 
Can anyone who's updated via ota confirm there HTC sense version.

I'm under the impression 2.3 from HTC will also bring us HTC sense 2.1?
