Thanks for the comments, I personally am not using anything but a screen protector but a flexishield (ebay ripoff!) is on its way so I'll let you all know what its like!
Direct from the manufacturer here. It was shipped to the UK in five days, very well packaged. Quality is excellent; it's a perfect fit and all slots/cutouts align exactly with the handset.

Nothing other than a screen protector. Since that distorts the view of the screen very slightly in places (probably because I was a bit careless when I put it on) I'm not sure it was a good idea. When I think how resistant to scratches my glasses (spectacles) are I wonder whether a screen protector isn't a bit OTT. Presumably the Hero screen is similarly scratch-resistant.
