HTC Hero ROM update on Orange now available

Are you sure your phone is branded, lol?
 
Ok seems that there is a problem with using FireFox (or a plugin) which is preventing the download from working correctly.
Just tried it in Chrome and no problem :)

They certainly are, and no offence was intended. I just wanted to confirm that this was tested in practice rather than heresay. There's enough of the latter kicking around the forums as it is.
 
I'm not sure if I've asked this before but I have an unlocked Orange Hero running on O2 - will this relock it?
 
Does anybody have any thoughts on this Rom compared to the Mcr 2.2? I don't know if I could be arsed changing because I am happy with my phone as it is, I also like the Wifi tether which I assume I will have to install separate.
 
Just updated my hero on orange. no Java icon in the settings also when doing a search in the browser in landscape the screen jumps all over the place! Anyone else having these issues?

That's an issue that people are getting with the Modaco Custom ROM which is built on top of the generic release.

Basically, start waiting for the next update.
 
Downloaded successfully direct from HTC at around 900k on my be broadband 7mb line..... :)

Just need to wait until I get back later....

Would like to year peoples reports on the orange specific Rom upgrade.

downloaded the file from htc website without any problems. Downloaded in under 90 seconds.

Have yet to install it because I am not sure if I can be bothered. I am running the MoDaCo ROM version 2 and the phone is running very slick with only minimal lag very occasionally.

Anyone installed it yet? feedback would be great.
 
decided that i would install it and give feedback to you guys.

Installation has happened quickly, says it would take ten minutes - took about 3.

Disappointed to see the orange logo back on my phone after doing the MoDaCo update.

Hero is now rebooting after complete installation
 
hey all, just downloaded rom update from htc. for the Orange handset, part way through the update i got the following.

Error [132]: Signarure error

Yes thats the above exactly how it was, there wasnt a 't' in the message i got.

anyone know what this error is, I havent been able to find it on htc or a google search. (apart from another language i couldnt figure out what it ment)

managed to get my contacts back using htc sync. no messages but never a ba thing to clear that out.

seems ok but will update with any probs!
