HTC Incredible VS. Droid X

My contract is up right after the Droid X comes out. Right now I have a Blackberry that I have been using for 2 years. I have been drooling over the Incredible since it came out. That is what I had my heart set on but now that the X will be coming out I am not sure what to get. Does anyone have any advice for me? I am coming from a Blackberry to a Droid so I have absolutely no idea which phone to get now, the Inc. or the X?

I am guessing based on your username that your female in which case I really think you are going to have a problem with the DroidX's size. Of course I could be wrong. I would say see them both in person and then decide but either way your getting an awesome Android phone and a substantial upgrade from a BB.

Yes I am female, and am on the petite side as well (and have small hands). I have wondered that the X would be too large for me. I guess I will have to wait to see it in person first. I am just so anxious and so ready to get rid of this stinking BB!

Thanks for the info and opinions people. Sticking with my dinc. Someone stated it perfectly; "buttery smooth". I have no need for hd video and am thoroughly impressed and very happy with this phone. Accessories can EAD. I got my chargers and case.

Read that that may have been caused by that live wallpaper that's on it. People tested the same wallpaper on the DInc and some other phone, and it caused the same thing with the interface.
Not sure if it's really the cause of the lag in the videos, but seems viable.

Possible. Live wallpapers are also the most counter-intuitive apps for devices that people are concerned about battery life with. Incredulity comes to mind when people complain about batery life and then state they use live wallpapers. Classic.

I dont know folks. I love my DInc, but the X is looking darn good right now. I think I may switch to the dark side. I may have to get rid of my DInc to do so though so i wanna make sure I am doing the right thing.

This video does a good job comparing the Droid X to current phones when it comes to performance. The Incredible isn't in this test but it would perform identically to the Evo in these tests.

From what I've read the TI processor is supposed to be faster on the X, but in the reviews by PC Mag and Laptop Mag and Cnet they all say that not only does the camera have shutter lag, but switching from app to app can sometimes be sluggish, and unlocking the screen can be sluggish at times.

First all phones lag at times, but yes there have been some reports that is has lagged, but there have been reports that this is the faster phone they have seen to date.

Second I think someone else has said that the camera shutter lag has nothing to do with the processor.

A lot of the review sites say that the TI processor does better on benchmarks and is a faster processor which is probably true. So the problem is probably with whatever UI Moto put into the X. And im pretty sure shutter lag has more to do with the processor than nothing. Not trying to fight just saying this is what I've read.

that is the same i have heard. first it was beeing blamed on motoblur/ninjablur. then i'm hearing there is no blur anything on this phone, which i guess means stock android... guess sense is just that bad ass IMHO

I think it might be Sense is just that good. Well, I'll just do like I'm doing now with my Droid, run Launcher Pro or ADW and call it a day.....

I just hope the scrolling with the nav dots is smooth on Launcher Pro as it is on the X stock one. Every vid I saw it was smooth using the dots.

I orderded the Incredible on June 7th, was supposed to ship yesterday (has not yet as of this morning) I have heard several conflicting stories from Verizon's over the phone support.... I had originally made my mind up to try to get the X, but alot of the reviews lead me to believe the Incerible is "snappier" I had the Eris which i hated and wanted to crush in my hand after so much lagging in freezing.... Hopefully the Eris and Incredible are worlds apart.... My little bros Iphone 3G put the Eris to absolute shame... Anyone know how much better the Incredible is over the Eris?? and Do you think Incridble is better performing than Iphone 3G... The one i played with in the store seemed to be

I have the Incredible. It is absolutely smooth, no lag at all. It is in a completely different league than the Eris. The Eris had inadequate hardware. This is not the case with the Incredible. I would venture to say that it is just as fast, if not faster than the 3Gs (Had one of those too) in almost every way.

The incredible is leaps and bounds above the eris i had both and the eris would always piss me off because it lags so much but the incredible didnt lag at all

Actually if you look around the internet most reviews have the Incredible faster then the new Iphone 4g . Trust me you will not be disapointed in the speed of the Incredible I too had an Eris and the diffrence is insane , the Incredible can run Turn by Turn Nav, while streaming Pandora thru Bluetooth and you can access the internet and the phone doesn't even hiccup. It's truley Incredible

My friend had a free iphone that he got rid of for a free g1 said the rooted g1 with 2.1 was so much faster than his 3g. Now he has an incredible on order. An honest iphn owner. Loves android now.

Yeah there really is no comparing the Eris to the Incredible in terms of speed.

Does the Inc have issues with call quality? My eris is just horrible. Even when I see about 2 bars, the second I hit the phone button the bars disappear and people tell me my voice is cutting up and the call inevitably drops.

If the Inc solves any of these issues, I'm def. getting it

Well, I wouldn't go for the Incredible if a better signal is priority for you. Mine is almost always at 1-2 bars. And while bars aren't the best indication of signal strength, I have compared the dBm strength with a co-worker's droid and the droid is consistently higher. In my humble opinion, HTC makes great hardware with the exception of antennas.

This is partly why I'm interested in the Droid X. Aside from Motorola's track record for signal strength, the X has a diversity antenna, which should make things even better. Verizon has great service, but with a weak signal, I find that my data speeds are slow and I have even had a dropped call in my house because of how weak my signal is there.

Signal strength is NOT the Incredible's forte.

Saw this Bloomberg article today about iPhone coming in January to Verizon. More conjecture and rumors, probably someone with a big stake in Apple or Verizon wanting the stock to move up but still interesting info...

I really like the Incredible and new Droid X specs and if they had a front facing camera, I would probably be getting the X, but for now I will probably be waiting. I'm thinking by year end there will definitely be even more new Droids that will have a Front facing camera and maybe better screen resolution (not necessarily size) with even faster processors. If the iPhone is also an option to choose from then, even better, but if not I'd be happy to choose a Droid instead at that time.
